WP:FILMS Welcome
editHey, welcome to WikiProject Films! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films, awards, festivals, filmmaking, and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for June has been published. July's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Announcements template to see how you can help.
- Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 (talk) 04:46, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!
Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 18:47, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Kubrick
editHi S Luke, you have a new message at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Films#Stanley_Kubrick_needs_your_help. Please also remember to justify the tagging you've done at Talk:Stanley_Kubrick. Thanks! --Termer (talk) 04:11, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for notifying me. I was unaware my edits had created any sort of controversy. S. Luke (talk) 06:15, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Kudos to you (re Stanley Kubrick)
editHi. I started the recent discussion at Stanley Kubrick with my post Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Films#Stanley_Kubrick_needs_your_help. I just wanted to mention that I strongly agree with the attitude you've expressed at Talk:Stanley Kubrick and wish that it was much more widespread on Wikipedia. If I had a nickel for every time I've read a "fact" on Wikipedia and said, "Wait a second, where the heck did this come from?" I could retire. Keep up the good work! -- 201.17.36.246 (talk) 18:03, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your note regarding synt concerns in Stanley Kubrick. I did the best I could by improving the article and providing refs for the current text. However instead of trying to make everybody happy with the results, I prefer to stay out of this article from now on.--Termer (talk) 23:38, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

- Hi S Luke! Thanks for your message. I can't tell exactly where you were found, but users were notified who had participated in related areas of the site, for example Talk:Main Page. The straw poll is now closed, but your contribution would be hugely welcome discussing what needs to change. Thanks again. PretzelsTalk! 09:34, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
You supported The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which has been selected as the Novels WikiProject's new Collaboration of the Month. Please help improve this article towards featured article standard. – Liveste (talk • edits) 01:02, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Disambiguation link notification for December 26
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of mythological objects, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ajax (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
