Add topicManaging a conflict of interest
[edit]
Hello, @Saaspedia:. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
I noticed that many of your recent edits relate to SaaS companies and products, which aligns closely with the name of your account (Saaspedia). If you have a connection to any of the companies you're editing about, or if you're editing as part of your work (e.g. SEO, content marketing, or on behalf of clients), please note that Wikipedia's Terms of Use require disclosure of paid editing. You can do this by adding a clear statement to your user page (e.g. "I work for X and sometimes make edits related to my role").
I can see you've only recently joined and not edit too much, so haven't reported you to the conflict of interest discussion board or anything. But just wanted to make sure you were aware of this.
Thanks

- Hey @HollowGannet
- While my account is intentionally obvious that I contribute to SaaS company pages, i DO NOT have a relationship with these companies, they are not my clients. I simply see it as an underserved segment. I've even tried to flag pages that don't meet notability guidelines. Still learning, but I assure you i'm NOT paid to do so.
