Troop 26 Afd

I totally understand, however its not completely out of spite, however I had noticed that Troop 26 had a wiki article for some time before the Troop 34 article made an appearance, however it seemed to go by unoticed. Therefore if the consensus of the wikipedia community that boy scout troops are not deserving of wikipedia articles, I would like to uphold that policy. Abduncan4 18:31, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

List of Star Wars races

Hi there, I'm not really sure why you moved the major races off the page as it's not a list of minor races only however no matter. I do however think that it might be good to leave a line or two at least about the race as there is at List of Star Wars races#Chiss, any chance you could do that? -- Lochaber 13:47, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

corrupted blood merge

I noticed you made the merge after I suggested it for merging. Now that I regreted that suggestion. It appears that the incident is large-scale enough to warrant its own article. for example,

Merge of HH-60 Jayhawk to Sikorsky S-70

I'm still new at all of this, so I could be way off, but my take is that having one single article for all information on the airframe, it's history and all variants would be more valuable than splitting it into multiple pages.

For example, Boeing 737-200 vs. 737-800; almost the exact same airframe separated by 30 years of technology. There are at least 4 pages already dedicated to the S-70 and variants. Combining them might start out awkward, but the flip side of your argument is that all S-70 variants deserve their own page, and I'm not sure if that is warranted either.

Is there a wikipedia "standard" for which aircraft derivatives get their own page? Mcneight 06:06, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Fair enough. I recently did a merge of a couple of pages into the Ford Thunderbird, which I think worked out nicely. However, the pages that I merged were not as well developed as the S-70 variant pages. Feel free to remove the merge suggestion, and I'll try to find the other pages and do the same. Horus

Hi Im Psi edit. Thanks for replying to the Horus (Warhammer 40,000) article so fast. The main reason I inquired about your specific revision is that I pretty much fell into liking this section.

The Emperor fought Horus, power sword against lightning claw, with brutal blows that would eviscerate any mortal man dozens of times over. The Emperor held back for much of the battle, remembering Horus as his beloved son and not wishing to believe that he had turned so utterly to Chaos. This allowed Horus to inflict crippling mortal wounds on the Emperor, since nothing short of the Emperor's full power would be sufficient to defeat him. At the critical point in the battle, a single Space Marine in Terminator armour, probably of the Imperial Fists Legion, entered the room: Horus flayed him alive with but a look, and in that instant the Emperor realised how far his favoured son had turned. The sacrifice of the Imperial Fists Terminator bought the Emperor time to deliver a finishing blow to Horus. With iron resolve, he gathered his full strength and delivered a massive psychic blow that killed Horus almost instantly. In his final moments, the powers of Chaos were driven from him, and the Emperor sensed his favoured son's return to sanity for a fraction of a second before he was annihilated.

After the battle, Rogal Dorn, Primarch of the Imperial Fists entered the chamber to find the Emperor mortally wounded,

Think I should readd that? -- Psi edit

  • It could use a little bit of tweaking to fit in, but go ahead. Once I find out a canon version of the battle, I'll come along and make it fit. Saberwyn 01:27, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for going through that bunch of 40K articles and tidying up my spelling a bit. I really appreciate the effort you've put in to clean up after my screwups. Saberwyn 01:55, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

No problem. Just one of those things I do; when I want to learn about a subject, I head to Wikipedia and go on a spellchecking spree through the articles about it. I'm still going through the First Founding chapters now; I'll be moving on to successor chapters later when I'm through with them. I've only been exposed to WH40K for a short time, and find the storyline fascinating, though I'm not nuts enough to get involved in blowing hundreds of dollars on miniatures. :p Rogue 9 02:12, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
I leave that to my kid bro and his mates. While you're wandering, if you come across something that makes you go "WTF?", gimme a buzz and I'll try to clarify it. Nine times out of ten, it'll be one of my spelling errors. Saberwyn 02:19, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Freeones

Hi. Will you reconsider your vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Freeones if the user involved makes no other contributions after the spam? (The user has not in the two days since this link was added to multiple articles.) - Tεxτurε 16:44, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Lion el'Jonson still alive?

Okay, I've recently been informed that Lion el'Jonson of the [Angels] is, in fact, still alive; why does the article leave the distinct impression that he was killed by Luther? Rogue 9 12:34, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

The epilogue to the Eye of Terror novel says that El'Jonson is at the heart of the Rock, speaking in third-person omniscient view. Rogue 9 01:58, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
Honestly, I find it hard to believe that Dark Angels players/fanboys would do anything but salivate at the prospect of having a living Primarch that will return someday. Rogue 9 09:04, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Keurboomstrand, Western Cape

I have rewritten this article so that it is about a real place with a significant archaeological site nearby. I would be grateful if you could take a look.Capitalistroadster 19:08, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Space Marine chapters

Don't know if you've seen it as it's on the UK site, but not the Australian one as far as I can see, but there's a great big list of Space Marine chapters available on the GW site, which could possibly be regarded as a list of canon chapters (and does include the Mentor Legion, FWIW).

And just to say thanks for all your continuing work on all this stuff! --Pak21 10:14, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

Zoids

Eh, sure. I'm willing to try to help you out with the Zoids sections of the site. I don't really know that much, but I know enough to try to help lay the groundwork for some future expansion. Also, seeing as I own a few models, do you know if it would be allowed for me to take pictures of my models and post them in their respective articles? CW3 17:08, 18 November 2005 (CST)

  • I have a Seismosaurus, Liger Zero X, Giga Gojulas (Hasbro=H), Energy Liger (H), Battle Cougar (H), Salamander, Molga, Command Wolf AC (H), Cannon Tortoise (H), Wardick, Spinosapper, Saicurtis, Maccurtis, Aro Saurer, Gorhecks, Fire Pheonix (H), Shield Liger, and one or two more which I don't remember their names offhand. They're back home so I'll take pictures once I get back. Also after Christmas I should have a few more. I'll begin work on the articles once Thanksgiving Break begins, my school's is trying to cram as much as they can in before. CW3 19:45, 20 November 2005 (CST)
  • I do agree with you about the major articles. Do you have acces to a camera to take a picture of all your models? (Please both Blade Ligers, with and without the ABU, both CW's and all three armors for the LZ you own). I'm going to do all of mine over the next couple of days. Also I'm going to ask the members of MMM to send me pictures of their models, so once they send them in I would be willing to bet that we would have a picture for nearly every zoid. I'd even bet that a few would give us a hand. Your list looks good, I might do a few others depending on what I know, but I should be able to start something in the next week or so. CW3 16:05, 21 November 2005 (CST)
  • I'd recommend photobucket.com to upload images, it works well for me. I meant to take pictures of my models this weekend but apparently my parents did something with the camera and I couldn't use it. So the earliest I could take pictures of my models would be Chirstmas break. However I'll post on MMM to get pictures from them. Hopefully I'll get images soon. CW3 00:42, 28 November 2005 (CST)
  • I've got a good number of the models allready indexed. I'll try to get clean photos of them. Its not easy for me; I don't have an overabundance of good "clean" backgrounds to photograph against.
  • Thanks for adding the images to the Zoids page!! I was on probation from editing for three days so I couldn't do anything! Currently, I am looking for a website with the omitted screenshots from the series, but that'll probably take a while, I'll get back to you on that subject.--4.253.126.99 22:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
  • I've been doing editting anonymosly because I'm still banned because that son of a *****, Curps, keeps changing my expiration date; but thanks for the update. --4.253.127.249 03:50, 2 January 2006 (UTC)CagedInsomniak

Chicken McNugget

You understand how Wikipedia operates. It's just about impossible to run a Google search on "nugget" in the sense you use. Those of us outside Australia have to verify the article through citations. If you add enough quality I'll see what I can do about the other editors. You'll have to jump over all three hurdles (dictionary definition, original research, and notability). For instance, any connection to the 2002 film The Nugget? Best wishes. Durova 11:04, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

Far right

I like your vote, but Wiki guidelines are tricky. A vote to "Delete Far right, and move Far-right to this name." will not accomplish that, since this is a vote for deletion not a vote to merge and most administrators will rule that the vote to delete won, and do nothing to ensure that the page Far-right will be renamed. It's always complicated. The wording should be: "Keep current article but move text from Far-right to this page and merge." Can I entice you to change your vote to that? --Cberlet 13:52, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

-POV

Great work in removing the POV crap from the warhammer 40000 article. "; mail order also provides rules support. The GW web site is a mine of hobby information, and anyone interested in getting started should pay the website a visit." <-- Lol. I suspect employees of Games Workshop have been visiting Wikipedia... --Chaosfeary 15:05, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Warhammer 40,000

It is a general guideline that external links should not be placed side with side, inline, with internal links. Readers often assume that is our link otherwise, when not being cited as a source, and this tends to be very bad as we're not accountable for that linked site. Yes, there are some who aren't familiar with what one might consider the obvious. Anyhow, internal links are always favoured over external links, and only under special exceptions should they be put inline in articles. -- Natalinasmpf 15:28, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Warhammer 40,000 Images

The Space Marine image was deleted because it lacked a source. Having a source is of prime importance for any image on Wikipedia, especially fair use images. It sounds like you have your source so you are half way there.

Here are some rules of thumb:

  • 1. If you can create the image yourself do it. Document that you took the image. Here is an example - Image:Aaron allston 2005.jpg but in your case you have to add the copyright for the underlying source material as the website requests - © Games Workshop 2003. All rights reserved.
  • 2. Use as few images as possible per page - fair use images should be used sparingly.
  • 3. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags to select the proper tag for the image. The images you get from the website will probably be tagged {{Promotional}} (ex: Image:Scene-it.jpg) or {{Fairusein|article}}. But you might use {{Gamecover}} or {{game-screenshot}}. Picking the correct tag is important also.
  • 4. Use low resolution images. If the image size is over 100k, consider reducing it.

Your fair use rationale sounds good. You might also add something like "It is believed that the use of the image on Wikipedia will have no impact on the commercial value of the image or any other works it is currently used in."

Hope this helps -Nv8200p talk 23:36, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

The old images should be listed at WP:IFD as obsolete. Example from ifd page - *Image:CVN-79-Rendering.jpg OB by Image:Image-CVNX picture.JPG Mark83 12:58, 25 December 2005 (UTC). You should notify the uploader of the ifd by putting the tag {{subst:idw|Image:Old image name}} on the uploader's talk page -Nv8200p talk 00:26, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Aaron Allston just happened to be the first image on a list of images that I took. -Nv8200p talk 00:31, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

I made a zoids template

Check it out at Template:Zoids. Is is helpful? -Giant89 22:21, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

  • I've actually never heard of the comics until your mention of them. I'd definately do the research if you'd like. I've done a few comic articles in the past. My recent expertise comes from disecting Wikiproject Comics to get the innerworkings laid out. Giant89 07:56, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

Saberwyn's Wikibreak notice

Saberwyn needs a vacation. Recent actions of mine have been brought to my attention as idiotic, foolish, and pig-headed (in particular this one [1]). This, plus several issues and challenges in the real-world, has drawn me to the conclusion that I may need a wiki-break.

I will, (sorta in the following order, and complete with projected dates).

  • Build my new, shiny Gairyuki model (Sat 21st January)
  • Write the Gairyuki article, reflecting the Zoid's role in the Battle Story of the Zoids fictional universe, as the second 'villain' Zoid in Fuzors, and as a series of model kits in the real-world. (Sat 21st, Sun 22nd)
  • Indoctrinate the two 'volunteers' to my little quasi-Zoids wikiproject (before Sun 22nd, if not, tough cookies)
  • Vanish for an indefinite amount of time
  • Return because someone's software doesn't like one of the images I've uploaded
  • Return to upload an image to the Darkhorn article (pending delivery of the item, late January to early February)
  • Throw some personal barnstar-like awards around (if my friend finishes fiddling with the images anytime in the immediate future)

I have no idea when I will return. If is the more relevant question at the moment.

I apologise for all the hassles I've caused.

~~ Saberwyn
