This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Adeena Karasick, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.prairiefire.ca/interview_jhc_karasick.html.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 22:11, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi, yeah, it's partially from somewhere, but I cited it, and I have permission from Adeena Karasick herself (who pretty much wrote that blurb). Is that okay? Safiasouthey (talk) 22:14, 24 May 2012 (UTC) user/safiasouthey
- I'm afraid it's not. I'm going to leave you some information below about this issue. I have also left detailed comments at Talk:Adeena Karasick about the removal of the copyright text (and why) and about the current state of the article, including issues of notability, referencing, and unencyclopedic promotional tone. Avoiding copyright problems
editHello, and welcome. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to visit me at my talk page. Thank you. Voceditenore (talk) 14:07, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your contributions to the article Adeena Karasick. However, before you add any more references or external links I think you should read the reliable sources and External links guidelines. Some of the links in that article (I'm not sure how many of them you added) don't comply with wikipedia policy on reliable sources. This is particularly important in an article about a living person. In general links to blogs are not reliable. Also be careful when linking to Youtube as there could be copyright problems with the videos. It is also important that references are relevant to the content of the article, and with inline citations relevant with the surrounding text. Thanks and goodluck with your future edits. Karasick
editHi. I've been asked to take a look at this article. Basically it reads like jacket notes or a publisher's promotional blurb about one of its authors. It's practically a résumé (CV) and contains no biographical information. A true academic will understand what an encyclopedia is and will not need to exploit Wikipedia for additional publicity. Having 'permission' to write about someone only demonstrates that there is a Conflict of Interest which is clearly manifest through the style of this article. The fact that the text of the article is partly a close parphrasing of text 'pretty much written' by the subject herself, is sufficient for me to consider possibly deleting the entire article. I am sure that there is a place for Karasick in our encyclopedia, but the style of the article needs to be greatly toned down, and the addition of biographical background is required. I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need help understanding our policies, please don't hesitate to contact me or Voceditenore.
