WP:GS/AA

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

  • Please see WP:GS/AA - topics related to Armenia and Azerbaijan are under an extended confirmed restriction. You are not allowed to edit these topics as you're not an extended confirmed user. Another important part of WP:GS/AA: “Non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace to post constructive comments and make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided they are not disruptive. Should disruption occur on "Talk:" pages, administrators may take enforcement actions described in "B" or "C" below”. Kajmer05 (talk) 11:26, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you did; this page specifically belongs to the Armenian commander this falls under the jurisdiction of GS/AA. He was an important figure for the Armenians, especially from 1917 onwards.
However, the content you have added here violates this. (After desperate street fighting, Ali Ihsan defeated the Armenian force of Andranik stationed in the city of Khoy, and Andranik retreated back to Nakhichevan). This content discusses both Armenian forces and Nakhchivan; geographically, Nakhchivan falls within the scope of GS/AA. Please see WP:ECR Kajmer05 (talk) 12:50, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
okay i wont edit armenia-azerbaijan pages anymore, but what do i have to do so i can edit these pages Sahbanda2 (talk) 12:56, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You can edit other articles until you become an extended confirmed user; furthermore, instead of editing articles related to Armenia-Azerbaijan, you can outline the changes you wish to make on the article's talk page. Kajmer05 (talk) 13:00, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
okay thank you for information Sahbanda2 (talk) 13:04, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
i have a question, can i edit pages on turks or kurds or assyrians in the meantime or is that also not allowed Sahbanda2 (talk) 14:46, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You cannot edit articles related to Kurds either; you must be an extended confirmed user to edit articles about Kurds. You can check this page for more information on that. WP:GS/KURD As for topics concerning Turks and Assyrians, you may edit those articles; just do not edit articles related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the Kurds. Kajmer05 (talk) 15:00, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay thank you, and where can i read about creating new articles by myself Sahbanda2 (talk) 15:05, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Experienced people here will help you with technical questions. Wikipedia:Teahouse You can add a new topic to the page I linked and ask experienced people about this. Kajmer05 (talk) 15:11, 28 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello, I'm Yoshi24517. I noticed that you recently removed content from Narender Singh Ahlawat without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. To enforce an arbitration decision, and for continued violations of extended confirmed restrictions after being informed of them and agreeing to respect them, you have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 31 hours. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily.

Reminder to administrators: Arbitration enforcement blocks may only be modified according to Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Procedures § Appeals and modifications of enforcement actions. Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may, at the discretion of the Committee, be desysopped.
