Transport in Singapore
editHello, I am one of many other Wikipedians taking care of pages concerning Transport in Singapore, in particular the MRT pages. Recently there was a member which went by the name Muhdsyafiq. After checking my watchlist, I found out that he has created three articles which deal with transport that already exist. The first article is Jurong West Bus Interchange, which I marked for speedy deletion as the article and it's photo was taken from Jurong East Bus Interchange, which is a legitimate article. Therefore, the page he created had no value as it was essentially a duplicate.
Secondly, an article concerning a Tuas Park MRT Station was also created by the member in question. There is no station named Tuas Park, whether proposed or not. This can be verified by this link to the official Land Transport Authroity of Singapore website. You will find the last station on the very left, labeled Tuas Link. To my knowledge, it is not possible to further expand on the article or otherwise as it was another duplicate.
Thirdly, after checking his contributions, I found another page Train Downtown Line, which is essentially a unpolished duplicate version of the page Downtown MRT Line. Thus, it has not way of expanding on. I will not tag the page this time so as to avoid any conflicts with the person. But I hope action can be taken. I am not sure if you can delete pages. Hopefully, the situation can be rectified quickly.
Contact me on my talkpage if there is something which I missed and you need to raise. Thank you Seloloving (talk) 08:16, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hello Seloloving. You're right to doubt that I can delete pages: I can't, because I'm not an admin.
- However, you did not tag those page for speedy deletion, but you proposed their deletion per WP:PROD instead, which is a slower process, that takes one week (and, while the creator of a page cannot remove a speedy tag, they can remove a prod). Actually, I'm not sure page one qualified for speedy deletion (does that interchange exist o is it a hoax?), while page two could perhaps have been tagged per G3 as a hoax and page three could be turned into a redirect to the other article.
- That said, I have to admit I don't know anything about transport in Singapore, so I can only offer suggestions as to what I think you might do. Alternatively since you've already prodded the two pages, you could also wait and see if Muhdsyafiq (talk · contribs) removes the prod tag; if not, in a short while, they'll be deleted all the same. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 13:06, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I see, thank you for your comments. For page one, while I am certain that that is a bus interchange west of Jurong, it isn't named Jurong West. Comparing the pages between the original article reveals that the page is a duplicate. I think that it is another hoax/prank page. As for Train Downtown Line, I will have to politely disagree that it be redirected to the original article for two reasons. Firstly, the title isn't in proper English and secondly, typing Downtown Line in almost any web browser in Singapore will bring up the DTL page.
Seloloving (talk) 09:56, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- For page one, then, you can leave it prodded. I don't think it qualifies for speedy deletion under criterion G3, because it's not a blatant hoax... With regard to page three, I see your point (well, I told you that my knowledge of the subject matter is somewhat lacking ). In this case, you can either prod the page or you can take it to WP:AFD, either are fine.
- Personally, I wouldn't really worry about the possibility of a conflict with this user. A polite note on their talk page where you explain them why their edits are inappropriate should take care of the matter. Cheers. . Salvio Let's talk about it! 00:10, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Page one can be tagged with G12 as a copyvio of the original because of Wikipedia's licensing (see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.) I have done so, or will in the next few seconds! --- c y m r u . l a s s (talk me, stalk me) 03:34, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to the clerk team!
editHi Salvio. Nuclear Warfare has added you to the list of clerks and I've subscribed you to the mailing list (info: WP:AC/C#clerks-l). Welcome, and I look forward to working with you! To adjust your subscription options for the mailing list, see the link at mail:clerks-l. The mailing list works in the usual way, and the address to which new mailing list threads can be sent is clerks-l lists.wikimedia.org. Useful reading for new clerks is the procedures page, WP:AC/C/P, but you will learn all the basic components of clerking on-the-job.
New clerks begin as a trainee, are listed as such at WP:AC/C#List of clerks, and will remain so until they have learned all the aspects of the job. When you've finished training, which usually takes a couple of/a few months, then we'll propose to the Committee that you be made a full clerk. As a clerk, you'll need to check your e-mail regularly, as the mailing list is where the clerks co-ordinate (on-wiki co-ordination page also exists but is not used nearly as much). If you've any questions at any point of your traineeship, simply post to the mailing list.
Lastly, it might be useful if you enter your timezone into WP:AC/C#List of clerks (in the same format as the other members have), so that we can estimate when we will have clerks available each day; this is, of course, at your discretion. Again, welcome! Regards, AGK [•] 19:46, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

MfD for RD Reynolds
editHello, I am confused as to why you have identified the RD Reynolds article in my userspace as a fake article. It is definitely a real article and was located in the mainspace for years. GaryColemanFan (talk) 23:33, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hello GaryColemanFan. WP:FAKEARTICLE is the shortcut to a policy regarding pages in userspace that look like articles, copy pages or project pages. I was not implying that the page is a fake article, only that the page can be deleted under the provisions of said policy, in that userspace is not a free web host and should not be used to indefinitely host pages that look like articles, old revisions, or deleted content, or your preferred version of disputed content. Private copies of pages that are being used solely for long-term archival purposes may be subject to deletion.
- The article was deleted after an AfD, then recreated and speedied per G4 as recreation of deleted content then undeleted and userfied on 27.08.2010, but hasn't been worked since then
- I'm sorry for the confusion. Salvio Let's talk about it! 23:43, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Welcoming spammers
editHi. Thanks for patrolling new pages - it's hard to keep CAT:CSD below 100 just now, but keep them coming! When you have a new user whose first contribution is spam, like WCon211 just now, there is a useful variation of the welcome template, {{welcome-spam}}, which provides some relevant links on COI etc. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:33, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip, JohnCD. I'll sure use it. That said, when I use WP:TWINKLE, it automatically welcomes users with {{first article}}. I know that Twinkle is undergoing a rewrite now; maybe, we could ask this change be made... For the moment, however, I'll tag manually and use that template. Cheers. JCurve Solutions
editHi, you have just blocked the article I was working on for JCurve Soltutions, an Australian Business. I have seen that several Businesses have a profile on wiki and I understand that the tone I have used wasn't the best. Could you help me working on JCurve company profile? LaurentDSydney (talk) 01:30, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'd be glad. At the moment, I'm off to bed, but tomorrow I'll be happy to help you. I see that an admin has indicated on your talk page that you might benefit from reading Wikipedia's rules regading the notability threshold for corporations; if, after reading that, you believe that JCurve Solutions qualifies for inclusion, I'll gladly help you write the article. RfA
editFor some reason your rfa tally at the top of the page doesn't seem to be working. Darned if I know why - the figures come up on SoxBot's little table and the tally template is in the right place on the page so far as I can see. Peridon (talk) 19:05, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- I noticed it and looked around and I saw that it seems that, for some reason, when the candidate's username contains a space, the tally isn't working, such as in these cases: Boing! said Zebedee The Bushranger or 5 albert square. However, I don't know why or how to fix it, unfortunately...
That said, I wish to thank you for your support: it put a smile on my face, which is something I really appreciate, especially during an RfA... Salvio Let's talk about it! 19:13, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

- Ok, now that it's almost through, I admit that I was still a bit nervous, because I'm a tad superstitious, having been an (amateur) actor for years (and yet my wife's favourite colour is violet... The irony...) And, by the way, tell me, when will we see your RfA? Salvio Let's talk about it! 10:26, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
