The Islington

Hello Sarah .. Thank you for reviewing and (possibly cleaning up!) The Islington as an entry. I am very new to Wikipedia and need to understand what you need from me in order to prove to you that "The Islington" is one of the most profile Live Music Venues in London. I have referenced sources from The Independent newspaper, one of the biggest daily newspapers in the United Kingdom. I started with what I know and would be greatly appreciate if you could guide me as to what is needed to verify this entry.

I have been looking at other music venues in London and I know they have pictures (I can do that .. I just need to learn how to do it!) .. But some of the other London venue entries seem to have next to nothing in terms of National Daily newspaper references. I have included quite a lot.

Please let me know what you need, and what I can do to show you. I have the information, I just need to know exactly what's needed, and how to upload etc.

Yours,

Scott.

Hi Hippy Muffin, The issue is basically what Everymorning has said on your talk page. You need to add reliable sources which talk about the venue itself and not just make a passing mention to it. The relevant notability guidelines are at Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features)#Buildings and objects and Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline if you want to read them. If you can find appropriate sources then I will be happy to withdraw my nomination for deletion. If you need anymore help with anything just let me know. Sarahj2107 (talk) 17:12, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)@Hippy Muffin: - I saw this article at AfD, having done a few music venue related articles such as Denmark Street and Black Prince, Bexley myself. By far the best sources you can use for these sorts of articles are reports from the local council; however even a search on "site:islington.gov.uk "1 tolpuddle street"" brings up little more than just confirmation of the building's existence. It really doesn't help that the venue's had so many names, either (the notability of the Black Prince rests entirely on events decades ago). If we can't find anything else, then the article's likely to be deleted. Sorry. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:50, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Javier Zugarramurdi

Hello Sarah, I want to know why you deleted the page Javier Zugarramurdi. Just tell me what do I need to add or modify in the page to be ok.

Many thanks, L. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lagasta (talkcontribs) 10:57, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi Lagasta. I deleted the page because the consensus found during the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Javier Zugarramurdi was that there were no independent, reliable sources to prove that Javier Zugarramurdi is notable enough to have a page on Wikipedia.
If you were to recreate the page you would need to provide references from reliable secondary sources which talk about him in significant detail (i.e. not just a passing mention). I suggest you read the pages I have linked to above to get a better idea of what is needed. You also might want to try using the article for creation process next time; you should get some advice there on how to improve it before it's moved to the main space. Sarahj2107 (talk) 11:08, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi Sarahj2107 the links are there. Most important is the discogs link that show that the artist have proven releases. http://www.discogs.com/artist/1805823-Javier-Zugarramurdi Is also important to say that this artist is the first electronic music producer on taking the Afro-Uruguayan genre Candmobe to create unique electronic music with those rhythms. So I think is really important to include the article in wikipedia since Is the only article mentioning the fusion of Candombe and electronic music. I have a back-up of the article and I can re-create it now.
Many thanks for your time! Your admin T-shirt is nice : )Lagasta.
The discogs link is not enough to prove notability. If the other claims of importance are true then you need to provide reliable sources to prove it. I strongly advise against just recreating the article as it will likely be speedily deleted. If you disagree with my close of the deletion discussion you can take it to deletion review. If you do recreate it then you should use the Article for Creation process as I mentioned above. Sarahj2107 (talk) 11:29, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Mark Bynov

Hey, I'd like to know out your reasoning behind the deletion of page Mark Bynov and why you did not agree with what I contested. PatriarchPahom (talk) 16:30, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi PatriarchPahom. I deleted the page because it did not give a valid claim of significance and therefore quailified for speedy deletion under A7 criteria. Stating that he is a youtube personality is not a claim of significance and the fact that other similar articles exist does not mean this one should. If you think that I didn't follow Wikipedia guidlines and policies when deleting this page, you can bring it up at WP:deletion review. Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:56, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
Okay, so a YouTube personality is not significant enough, no matter the amount of subscribers and views. If a person is covered by news sites, is that enough to be considered "significant"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by PatriarchPahom (talkcontribs) 19:50, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Nitesh Estates Limited Wikipedia Page

Nitesh Estates Limited is public listed company then how can it be not notable. Yes, I agree the content is promotional but that can be modified as not all content was promotional. The content that have proper references and are fact based can at least be put in this article. Also, if a company is notable then its wikipedia page must exist. Instead of removing the complete article we can work to modify it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jolly.smith (talkcontribs) 05:48, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

@Jolly.smith: I sorry but the result of the deletion discussion was to delete it in its current form. The reasons given by other editors for this were that it lacked notability, was promotional in nature and contained copyright violations. If you disagree with the way I closed the deletion discussion and would like another opinion then you can take it to deletion review. However, your best chance of getting this article on Wikipedia in the future would be to start a draft in your sandbox. Make sure that it is written in a neutral tone with nothing that could be considered promotional, do not include anything copied directly from another source, and include plenty of reliable, independent, sources which talk about the subject in detail. Once your draft is finished another editor can review it and move it to the main space if they think it's ready. If you need any help with it or have any questions then just let me know and I'll try my best to help you. Sarahj2107 (talk) 11:02, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi Ladymacbeth9, I don't have a problem with you creating the article again if you can add independent, reliable sources which mention her in significant detail (See General notability guidelines) I had a quick look an couldn't see any improvement in the sources available since it was deleted 3 months ago but if there are news articles then that would probably be enough for now. You should be aware though that press releases are not appropriate sources because they are not independent (I did see quite a few of them). I suggest you create a draft in your user space first and let someone review it before moving it to the main space, otherwise there is a chance it will just get deleted again. Let me know if you want me to take a look at it are if you need any help. Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:50, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi Sarah. I agree. The reality is that whoever wrote that article didn't research well. There were some good resources out there, which I found out after I said it wasn't really noteworthy. The press releases and things that they've done themselves, are of course not good resources, which is common sense--but that never seems to kick in when creating these pieces.I've been writing professionally and citing sources for 20 years. None of them ever included press releases written by the team of the "notable." I honestly think that someone (dare I say it) may have compensated them for that article and they slapped it up and called it good. It wasn't good work and it certainly had no measure of verisimilitude on any level. Ladymacbeth9 (talk) 07:22, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Removal of a page

I was wondering why you removed the page for Katlynn Smith aka, Katlynn Simone. I went to search new information, and the page shows to be removed by you if I'm reading this correctly. She is a recording artist, singer/songwriter, actress (BET's "The Game"), and model (JC Penny's, etc) She has music on Vevo, Music Choice, iTunes, Amazon, and a verified Twitter etc.

Hi. I deleted the page because that was what was decided as the deletion discussion (Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Katlynn_Simone). The consensus was that she did not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. If that has changed since the page was deleted in December then you can recreate it, as long as you provide evidence of significant coverage in independent, reliable sources (see WP:Bio).
