Katie Sturino moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Katie Sturino, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Celestina007 (talk) 21:03, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. Can you help me understand what is not suitable about this article? I cited the New York Times, Forbes, Vogue, Insider and other sources. Sturino is notable as a published author (Penguin Random House) and founder of a national company, Megababe. Saramannheimer (talk) 21:26, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Katie Sturino
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Katie Sturino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Liz Read! Talk! 01:27, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hello Saramannheimer -- I've declined the immediate deletion as I believe it is possible that the subject is notable. The problem, I think, is that the subject is not yet notable as a book author (which requires at least two books), but as a blogger and businesswoman, where there is considerable lack of clarity as to what exactly constitutes notability. Also some of the detail you have included comes over as promotional; it's a fine balance and difficult to get right. I notice you're a member of WP:Women in Red; you might try asking for help at their talk page, as someone there might be able to assist.
- ETA One course you might consider is retargeting the article on the book, as it would appear to be notable with multiple reviews. You could then briefly mention the author's previous career in a background section. Biographies of living people rightly get a great deal of scrutiny because of promotion on one hand, and the possibility of harm to the subject on the other.
