National Archaeology Museum

edit

To change the name of a page from National Archaeology Museum (Lisbon) to National Museum of Archaeology (Portugal) there is a "Move" page button. This preserves the history of edits which are lost by a copy and paste. Please let me know if you need any help with this. I see that you are also WP:GLAM as am I. Welcome, and thank you for your contributions. --mikeu talk 01:44, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have undone your cut and paste page move

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give National Archaeology Museum (Lisbon) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into National Museum of Archaeology (Portugal). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:25, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited National Archaeology Museum (Portugal), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Horn (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre Museum moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre Museum, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 23:42, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Redirect

edit

I have redirected Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre Museum as it does not show evidence that it warrants a separate article. If you wish to make a separate article for it, please use references to show notability. You already have Draft:Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre Museum so please use that. Dates

edit

I'm sure you've noticed that I have edited the page Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre Museum (The Macau Museum) several times. The reason is that many of your edits have placed the page in the error category Category:CS1 errors: dates. This is because you are formatting your citations with date=[1999]. This citation parameter should not have square brackets, but just use the year only, like date=1999. Please see Help:Citation Style 1#Dates, which lists how dates should be entered into citation templates. kennethaw88talk 23:17, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida

edit

While I am happy that you want to expand this article, I am afraid that your edits are not presently acceptable. Much is in Portuguese and the text seems to come from a publicity brochure, with the language being unsuitable for Wikipedia. Too many adjectives and too much "promotional speak". You do not provide citations. The text mostly needs to be in the past tense. Also, I believe that it is not Wikipedia's job to provide a room-by-room guide to the contents as this information is available from other sources and, presumably, a brochure can be obtained at the museum for those who visit. See, e.g., National Gallery, which just highlights the most important items in the collection. My suggestion is to delete the room-by-room description but to retain the Highlights as you have done an excellent job here with providing wikilinks to the artists. But move the highlights to the end and start with a description of the museum itself and its history.Roundtheworld (talk) 18:24, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Calouste Gulbenkian Museum

edit

I've noticed that you cite Barata many times and provide duplicated references. It will be easier to use named references instead since I've made one in my last edit. You can use <ref name="barata"/> instead of the long <ref>{{Cite book....</ref>.

Also, it would be nice if you can specify the exact page supporting each reference. For example, one ref may be <ref name="barata"/>{{rp|p=22}} because you are referencing page 22; referencing multiple pages is like <ref name="barata"/>{{rp|pp=37-41}}. Aithus (talk) 14:31, 20 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
