Thanks
editHey, thanks for the message. That admin over at the commons had no right to delete my image. They claims that "fair use rational is not allowed in the commons". But the image was made by me, no fair use was claimed on the image. In fact I took data from the paper and make the map myself from those data (and of course attributed the data to the paper). The data themselves are not copyright, only the text or any images in the original. Claiming that the image was deleted because of a false fair use rationale, when no such rationale was claimed is just sloppy. In fact that map was entirely my own work, and I had every right to upload it and release it to the public domain, which I did. I've requested that this uncalled for deletion be reversed. Some people are paranoid about copyright and seem to think that copyright applies to even concepts, ideas and information, whereas of course it only applies to text and images. I'm pretty angry about this sort of arbitrary sloppy behaviour. Alun (talk) 06:16, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- I managed to get the image undeleted. Thanks again for the message :) Alun (talk) 12:53, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Sockpuppetry case
editYou have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jagz for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. T34CH (talk) 23:23, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Human genetic variation
editI know nothing of the sockpuppetry charges. But I would like to say that in May 2009 onwards this guy did a huge amount to improve the Human genetic variation article, which was then sorely in need of it. Maproom (talk) 19:00, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
