User talk:Savidan/Contributions
Oh, first time talk page? Hi there and thanks for your post about the removal of DA from your main-contributor articles. I've not been using the script for a while, pending the results of discussions and the gathering of data on responses to the talk-page notifications. However, I'll go through some of your articles; slight concern about single-year links in historical articles—some people really want to retain them, since the year pages are arguably slightly relevant WRT the bird's-eye view of the world at the time. Case by case. Cheers. Tony (talk) 04:55, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- Meh, I don't care. I think the year pages are useful for people who need information about a given year (school assignment etc.) or for writing an article, if you need to verify information from another source. I don't know if linking to them from a mainspace article is ever strictly speaking useful. The problem is that they are just so overwhelming, and are guaranteed to provide an orgy of irrelevant information in addition to whatever relevant details they provide. A bit like the dilemma of linking to a major country or city. Piping a link to [Music in 1345] in an article about music would be useful, but not so much a link to [1345]. In summary, feel free to nuke them in my articles. Savidan 15:27, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- My thoughts exactly. Tony (talk) 15:41, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)
editCredo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:
- Link to Survey (should take between 5-10 minutes): http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/N8FQ6MM
It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.
At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).
Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.
If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:32, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
