Your request to be an admin
editIf you want to be an admin, then may I suggest that you read some of the following:
- Administrators' reading list
- Guide to requests for adminship
- Successful requests for adminship
- Unsuccessful adminship candidacies
There are no fixed criteria for adminship - you need to be able to show that you will make a good admin through your history. As a rough guide, my standards for adminship are here - I don't think that I am too far away from what the average editor is looking for!
Finally, you might want to read the essay Wikipedia:What adminship is not - being an admin does not make you a more important or senior editor... it really is a maintenance thing! If Wikipedia was a University, admins would not be students or professors, they would be the janitors. They are essential to the smooth running of Wikipedia, but not important in and of themselves - and in fact, it can be stressful to be an admin!

Confused
editHi - Thanks for reviewing Mary Ann Parker. I'm afraid I'm confused by the tags you've put on it, since it seems to me to be well-referenced and obviously not an autobiography. Can I assume there's been a misunderstanding? Lelijg (talk) 15:36, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your message. I still feel sure there must be some mistake. Why do you mention Shakespeare? I have used verifiable sources, even though they are print, not web-based (not unusual for some topics). Why do you suggest the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography and the other academic sources lack credibility? If you think my experience matters, you will be able to see that I have been contributing content to Wikipedia for several years. Lelijg (talk) 16:32, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Lowell Ponte
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lowell Ponte, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Reference errors on 7 April
editHello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the Kait Walsh page, your edit caused a URL error (help). (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:23, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
References added with ProveIt
editHi sbf, just to let you know it is worth checking a bit more carefully when adding references - the references you added with this diff were for Kate Walsh (actress) not Kait Walsh, so I have removed them. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 02:28, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Autobiographies
editIn future, I would advise against congratulating a user for creating an autobiography [1], since that is something we actively discourage. --Drm310 (talk) 04:35, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
Autobiography
editHi there. I was surprised to find you had tagged Mary Ann Parker as autobiography for the second time. This woman died in 1848! Also, the article has already been rated by 2 Wikiprojects. Please let's not spend any more time on this misunderstanding. Thanks. Lelijg (talk) 17:12, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Cybereport
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Cybereport requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello, Sbf1998. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Adspeed, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted, go to my chat or an admin.
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 16:43, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
editI would like you to know that I have changed my PROD tag to a speedy delete. I felt this was the better option, because of its obvious promotional tone. Please refrain from making non-notable articles in the future. If you want to talk, leave a message on my talk page. ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 18:18, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest
editUS Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |

Diana Lenska moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Diana Lenska, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
