Gaelic
editHey how are you? I was wondering if you could translate some of my created pages and other significant articles into the Gaelic wikipedia. I know very little Gaelic (trying to learn) but still recognize what's beneficial for the languages survival. It's in my reasoning that young users will only use the English page since it contains the most plentiful and useful articles. Thereby creating well written pages in Gaelic, they will, perhaps, refer to it instead. Thanks. -Shane from Pittsburgh, PA, USA. -RiverHockey 21:29, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Peter Caffrey
editHi - I noticed you changed his place of death from Manchester to Shrewsbury. Can't see a reference to that in the sources - where did you get this from? Be best (talk) 23:07, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- He died at his sister's home in Shrewsbury. (I was at Peter's funeral). You can also check out the death notice in the Irish Times on the 2/1/08 and 8/1/08. Sean an Scuab (talk) 16:24, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Could you put a reference in the article then, to those death notices (I guess they're not on line)? Sorry for your bereavement.Be best (talk) 21:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I was wondering if you would like to translate my article on the Two Working Men to the destination of ga:Beirt fhear oibre. Please let me know; it would be so great if you could! Mike H. Mitsibushi Lounge
editJust wondering if you have a reference for the Mitsibushi Lounge? Also should it be "Mitsubishi"? -- haminoon (talk) 01:50, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
I'm afraid I haven't a reference. The Mitsubishi, whose name was coined from the brand of car its two original customers were leaning up against at the time, was a very informal place and not given to anything that would corroborate its existence. However, it did exist from late 1983 to at least 1985 and maybe quite longer. "Are you going for a Mitsubishi?" became part of the vocabulary of the multilingual community of Chungking Mansions and other hostels in Tsim Sha Choi.
Maybe the Mitsubishi Lounge doesn't meet the standards of Wikipedia but it is something real that captures the anarchic zeitgeist of Chungking Mansions during the early 1980s and should be remembered somewhere before its clientele disappears off into the fuzzy dementia of old age.Sean an Scuab (talk) 02:07, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of John Reddington
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on John Reddington requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. editDisambiguation link notification for December 26
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1963 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Martin Newell and John Keenan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
