Deletion discussion about Proto-runtime
editHello, Seanhalle,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Proto-runtime should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Proto-runtime .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks, Modern.Jewelry.Historian (talk) 02:49, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi Sean - Thanks for adding knowledge to Wikipedia. To enable this article to survive the deletion, you will need to add independent references discussing the subject, establishing independent notability. From what I've seen, you may still have a challenge adding the contant to an existing higher level article, because the external references are not sufficient. Remember, original research is not eligible, it must be editorial (ie journal published) citations.--MJH (talk) 21:15, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
The article Installation time has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- wkipedia is not a dictionary
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TheLongTone (talk) 11:20, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Where can more information about execution models be found?
editYou authored a page titled Execution model, and I'm trying to find out more about them. But as far as I see, your article is all there is. I can't find execution models Scott's Programming Language Pragmatics, nor general treatments of them in a google search for computer science textbook "execution model".
Where did you originally learn about these? Thanks!

Google search:
Java execution model:
https://cs111.wellesley.edu/~cs111/archive/cs111_fall97/public_html/lectures/jem/jem.html
Spark execution model is covered in this Coursera course: https://www.coursera.org/lecture/big-data-analysis/spark-execution-model-1YdTx and this https://deepsense.ai/understanding-apache-sparks-execution-model-using-sparklisteners-part-1/
And so on. It's a fundamental thing. A language consists of a grammar/syntax plus an execution model. The execution model is the behavior part.
The article Embedded style language has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No references whatsoever. Orphaned for a decade.

- It would be a shame to delete this. I added reference to Scala, which is a popular programming language, and it was desinged explicitly to support embeddeding languages into Scala. Chisel, is an example of such an embdded language. I apologise that I don't have more time to add more references.. but I will link other articles to this one. 95.82.46.168 (talk) 09:05, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
- I have added links from Chisel page, Scala page and Haskell page to this page on Embedded Style Language. Please review and if these resolve the issues, remove the proposal to delete. Seanhalle (talk) 07:46, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
