Notability of San Bernardino Krew

edit

A tag has been placed on San Bernardino Krew requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 00:20, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Leandro Torres

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Leandro Torres, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  X  S  G  16:50, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your ongoing edits

edit

First of all, STOP introducing articles with AFD tags on them; in addition, these links are to the wrong AfD. Second, I've noticed you've only introduced articles for SPEEDY deletion; note that our blocking policy states that vandalism-only accounts can be permanently blocked. I encourage you to shape up your edits. Thanks. ←Signed:→Mr. E. Sánchez Get to know me! / Talk to me!←at≈:→ 06:22, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think you've stepped over the WP:BITE line, ESanchez013. It's pretty evident that Sebastian was doing what he thought was right and good for Wikipedia. Though misguided, not one of his introduced pages reads like vandalism. Take it easier, much easier, on the misguided newbies. Sebastian's going to become a great football editor, I can just tell!  X  S  G  07:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry if I "barked and bit" you. I think your edits are pretty beneficial to WP, but I'd just like to emphasize that you shouldn't start articles with an AFD tag. I've noticed you are linking to unrelated AFDs (they are related only in the way that they are AFD discussions of articles you either started or were involved in editing). Please don't start with AFDs. Please let me or another editor know if you need help with articles, deletions, and the like. Thanks for your contributions to WP! ←Signed:→Mr. E. Notability

You wrote:

What would make this article note worthy to stay on the site?

There is no single answer to this question. Articles in Wikipedia are subject to notability requirements which are outlined on many different pages and differ depending on the subject matter. For example, we use WP:BLP as a guideline for biographies of living people. We might use WP:ATHLETE for athletes, WP:BAND for bands, WP:ORG for organizations, etc. WP:NOTABLE is a good place to start researching.

I've seen you put together some really great articles about notable people and I do want to encourage you to continue. I think once you become familiar with Wikipedia's ways, it'll be a lot easier for you. You might consider trying to add content to existing articles rather than creating new articles, in order to become familiar with what other editors are doing.

Also, I'd like to recommend that when you add comments on talk pages, sign your comment by placing ~~~~ after your comment. Wikipedia will convert this to a signature including a timestamp.  X  S  G  07:28, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
