Serak
For the La Argentina page, if she's better known by her real name than stage name, you should put it under her real name. There's a button on the left hand side of every page that says "Move this page" which will do it for you. --zandperl 18:57, 12 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Thought about that: I've found very few references to her real name, which is why I used her (more commonly known) stage name. But, see the Summary in the history for her entry. Maybe provide a redirect??? serak 19:40, 12 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Great work on the sound samples at flamenco! You may be interested in Wikipedia:Sound and Wikipedia, if you aren't already aware of it. Tuf-Kat 20:06, Feb 19, 2004 (UTC)
- Thanx! I actually may end up breaking out a mic and trying to record some samples myself. The basic stuff is pretty simple. It's hard to find good PD flamenco samples of long-enough duration without fair use problems :-( I'll have a gander at the Wikipedia:Sound and Wikipedia thingamajiggeroo. serak 14:40, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Well spotted! The F/A-18 Hornet pic was put on by me. Because I'd been putting on a lot of USAF pics I automatically typed USAF into the caption.

Looks like we're both editing the YF-17 Cobra page at the same time. Lost the tech table I put in :-) Amazing how fast someome comes to edit a brand new article :) serak 20:08, 29 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- I edit-conflicted you? sorry! :) I really didn't know the existence of YF-17, although I have some knowledge on military aircraft, so please add the tech table again! :) Optim 20:11, 29 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Serak, I've found the same problem, I couldn't upload a changed pic using the old pic name. I think it's a bug. You'll just have to use a new name! Best Wishes, Adrian.

- Thanks for the message.
- You can do conversions very easily with google. Simply type what every you want to convert such as:
- 15000 horsepower
- 2000 pounds force
- 25 ft 12 in
- 10000 acres in sq km
- 352 mph in km/h
- into the google search field. See the 'More about calculator' link that appears. Regards.

- Deal.

'Fair Use' common phrase at the time
editSorry it took so long, to see your tag/edit for . There was no real rationale given simply because at the time of upload, most other clips just said "Fair Use" and that was it. I just followed the crowd, so-to-speak. The situation has been remedied (I hope!) :-) serak 08:35, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK, Thanks for adding the rationale, Also don't worry about having EXACTLY 30 secs, provided it's a short sample from an entire wotk there should not be an issue. If you have timecode information (i.e start and end times) for the sample used, it is suggested you list these as well. ShakespeareFan00 09:39, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
'Rebutal' (sic)
editRebutal to this entry My Name Instructor or Guru Serak Victor de Thouars For anyone information The Work Serak or Sera, long before Star Trek ---- Serak Pak Sera or Mister Serak was born on west java 1783 - 1885 Sera or Serak was actually his Nick name His real name was Ileah Aboen Hasin and came from the Badui Village on West Java So No, not an Indian Martial Arts, but a west Javanese Martial Arts The Word "Serak(R)" is a registered Trade mark, registered to Victor I.C. de Thouars. Anyone using the name for any purpose, specialy in Business must have written permission in writing to use the registered name of Serak(R) Anyone can contact me by email: vdtacademy@aol.com Also, a great suggestion before folks make statement a "A corruption from Sarek, is to us extremely unaceptable as it gives a de-meaner to the man who was born on West java, his Martial arts is practiced as of this entry. The Great Sifu Bruce Lee Studied the martial arts of Serak from a good friend in the sixties. So, it is a good Idea to research first before statements are made.
By your own admission the name dates back to 1783-1885. Just because it's a registered trademark doesn't mean everyone must seek your permission. You might as well trademark the name "John" or "Fred". If your argument had any merit, I could trademark the name "Victor" and you would then need my permission to use it.
If you choose to find the phrase "corruption from Sarek" unaceptable (sic), that it by YOUR choice, not mine. I simply stated how I came up with the name. You're free to feel offended by anything you choose.
If you want to continue with this nonsense any further, then sue me. While you're at it, sue Doris Day for singing "Que Sera Sera", and producers of The Simpsons for "Serak The Preparer", and linebacker Pat Serak, and Andrew Serak, and Holba Serak beer, and Vaclav Serak, and the Czech Republic town of Serak, and....many others. Hey! I think your trademark has just been shown invalid! ROTFLMAO!
