The Fred Article
editI agree with the other comment on Fred. He is the most subscribed user on YouTube, yet he's not notable enough for an article. Chris Crocker has one!
Chris Crocker ISN'T the most subscribed YouTube user, but he's notable. Yet the number one most subscribed isn't notable enough?

Canvassing
editThis message is being sent to the three editors that have opposed for this reason. I would like to apologize for doing anything that was perceived as canvassing. Once Gazinoff called me on it, I thought about the situation, and immediately refactored my comment. I did not think of it as canvassing because it was not said on multiple pages, and, looking over the terminology on WP:CANVAS (which I did not do in advance), was neutral, non-partisan, and open.—Kww(talk) 21:55, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
You got a thank you card!

Dear Seresin, thank you so much for your words of support, kindness, and your trust in me. My request for Adminship has been closed, and the support the community has shown will be with me forever. I have no way to properly express how grateful I am, and all I can tell you is this: I shall try not to disappoint you nor anyone else with my use of the buttons... and if I mess up, please tell me! :) If you ever need my help, either for admin-related stuff or in any other way, you are welcome to ask, and I shall do my very best.
Dear Seresin, I would also like to thank you for the note of congratulations on my talk page. I appreciate it! Please take care. |
DRV comments
editI'm sorry if I'm coming off as hostile in my comments. I just noticed I said to you "Being a broken record doesn't prove your point, it only makes your argument look weaker.", but this was your first comment on the situation, and I confused you for another editor. Still, even if you were that editor, it's not a very nice thing to say. I still believe you are wrong that I am alone in my thinking, but that's no reason to be at odds with you. -- Ned Scott 03:04, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- I take no offense to your words, and hope you take none at mine, as none was intended. seresin ( ¡? ) 03:10, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Good to hear, but should we ever meet in real life and you wish to punch me in the face, I'll understand. I tend to take little issues and run with them, not knowing when to stop .. -- Ned Scott 03:16, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that de-escalation is best here. I'll certainly modulate my comments to remove any hostility from them, and discuss as calm fully and reasonably as possible. seresin ( ¡? ) 03:57, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Fred
editI keep trying to make a page on only Fred so that Lucas Cruishank can be for only him instead of the internet phenomenon, but whenever I make a new page, someone redirects it to Lucas Cruishank! Plus, anything that says "see List of Episodes in Fred" is deleted and all of my changes (some necessary) and switched back! I just want to make a Fred page and I don't give a crap if it ends up with me kicked off of wikipedia. So stop it or I will tell wikipedia about this.
What the crap? He is freaking famous! You stink and if you don't stop doing this crap wave bye-bye to Mr. Lucas Cruishank Page! —Preceding unsigned comment added by IMeow (talk • contribs) 20:36, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Anderson Cooper
editJust following up on this article. Four days ago, you wrote that you were "willing to unprotect the page now...."
You also threatened additional blocks if "specific editors begin to edit-war about this topic again while discussion is ongoing, or in violation of a formed consensus," but the version you have protected for 10 days is the edit warriors' censored version. The article's revision history shows the previous version had survived mostly intact through more than 500 revisions over more than 15 months, by countless editors, before being censored last month.
If you are going to continue to protect a version of the article, shouldn't you protect the formed consensus version, rather than the edit warriors' censored version that you are protecting currently? Also, if there must be more blocks, shouldn't the next round land on the self-appointed censors who went to war against a formed consensus while expressly refusing to discuss?TVC 15 (talk) 21:11, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, I was waiting for responses, and then the issue slipped my mind; I've unprotected. As for the version I protected, see m:The Wrong Version. The revision history I addressed on the talk page. I don't consider there to be a consensus; lack of discussion from other parties only indicates consensus per WP:SILENCE after more than a few days. seresin ( ¡? ) 00:32, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks :) I will wait longer to see if anyone on the other side breaks their WP:SILENCE. Also, in the interest of credibility, I will try to avoid using the word "censorship," although I do think it applied in this case[1]. Lastly, thanks for the link to m:The Wrong Version, which coincidentally I had read a few days ago; it helped put things in perspective.TVC 15 (talk) 02:02, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I am annoyed
editLook, Seresin. You are ticking me off. I am going to destroy your stuff now. Go ahead, kick me off. I dare you. I will return though to wreck havoc on wikipedia when you least expect it.

Hi, I was wondering why you didn't block indef on this user with their username as it is. I have certainly seen indef blocks for usernames which were not nearly as obviously inappropriate. Thanks! --Terrillja (talk) 04:43, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't block him; Dlohcierekim did. I put the block notice because I was there, and he hadn't yet so I thought I'd save him the time. Had I been the one to block, I would have blocked longer, as it was a vandalism-only account. As for the username, I don't particularly see it as offensive. seresin ( ¡? ) 04:48, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

editI guess anons from the 75. and 76. range just don't like Unca Arcayne. Thanks for the fix. Maybe they will calm down during the block. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 05:04, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
