Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, ShadeofTime09! I am Airplaneman and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Thanks! I appreciate it. Also, I have been on Wikia for over a year, so I'm good at editing (for now). :D ShadeofTime09 (talk) 01:06, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

It appears you are out of step

edit

If you believe this, you obviously haven't been reading any of the comments here or here. The consensus is already so overwhelmingly against the new logo that they've already introduced revisions. Almost no one has endorsed the new logo over the old one, except the cabal that created it. And they've been forced to listen, in true Wikipedia fashion. 98.82.22.169 (talk) 20:50, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Now you are coming and raving on my talk? Stop insulting other peoples' work, please. Not everyone agrees with your view that is terrible. I think it looks great, especially on vector. ShadeofTime09 (talk) 00:58, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Amazing that you are griping about the first visitor to your talk page since the welcome committee. Anyway, pointing out the fact that there have been literally hundreds of people who have likewise complained about the new logo hardly constitutes "raving".
I'm glad you like the new logo. There's nothing wrong with your opinion, it's just as valid as mine. But what would you have me and the great mass of editors who loathe the new logo do? Are we supposed to suppress our opinions so that we do not hurt the feelings of the persons who imposed the new logo sans discussion? The old logo was implemented after lengthy discussion, per Wikipedia style, this one was imposed from above. Is this the Wikipedia you signed up for? 98.82.22.169 (talk) 08:42, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, this is the Wikipedia I signed up for. I'd prefer you don't come an knock on my talk page and tell me I'm out of step. Go express your opinions about it somewhere else. But know this: Not everyone hates it like you. ShadeofTime09 (talk) 11:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • First thought: If you have trouble interacting with opinions different than yours, you're not going to last very long on Wikipedia. Difference of opinion does not denote hostility, and if you take it that way, you're going to need to acquire some more Wikimaturity. The mere fact that you accused me of "raving" would be taken by some oversensitive members as a violation of WP:CIVIL or even WP:NPA (not that I agree).
  • Second thought: Of course not literally everyone hates it. But demonstrably, the overwhelming majority do. Did you even look at this? If this was an election, the word "landslide" would be completely inadequate to describe the depth of objections to this. 98.82.22.169 (talk) 14:33, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:WikiProject Years

edit

Hi, since your name's down on this project, I'm just writing to let you know that there's a discussion going on at the moment on how to format events – and in particular, events that go on for multiple days – on year pages. Your input would be appreciated. — Smjg (talk) 18:24, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
