Speedy deletion nomination of Martin Dow

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Martin Dow requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. G7 speedy tag not appropriate for Martin Dow

edit

Hello Shaheeraharoon. There has been a discussion at WP:Requests for undeletion about this article, which you created some time ago. The article was deleted after your speedy nomination on 2 May. Looking this over, it seems your G7 was not appropriate, because it says "the author of the only substantial content has requested deletion.." The page had 51 revisions and it had many contributors besides yourself, so G7 doesn't apply. If you wanted to get rid of the page, you should have used something like WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 16:42, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently attempting to use Wikipedia for promotion, both by posting promotional content and by removing content unfavourable to the business you are trying to promote. Also, please note that repeatedly reverting an article to a version you prefer in the face of other editors who disagree changing it, known as edit warring, is considered disruptive and unhelpful. Wikipedia works by collaboration, not be each individual editor persistently plugging his or her preferred version, so that eventually the most stubborn editors get their way. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:05, 1 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

the block is no longer necessary because I understand what I am blocked for, I will not do it again, and I will make productive contributions instead. I will not make any disruptive edits and I will works in collaboration, by not persistently plugging my preferred version. I was not using the article to promote this company, I made this article as an assignment, after completion of my assignment I attempted to delete this article, it was deleted after I requested but it is now active again. As this is a company related article and I do not want it to be there without their permission due to some legal issues. Kindly help me in this regard as how can I get this article deleted. I will be awaiting for help from your end, as I do not have the permission by the company, neither I am associated with this company. Looking forward towards a positive response from you as I cannot find any solution for this problem. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Blocked editors often tell us that they know why they were blocked; quite often it becomes clear that they do not. Please tell us exactly your understanding of the reason for your block. Also please tell us who it was who set you an assignment to create this article. If you want it deleted you are welcome to post a request at WP:AfD; you have no other option. Permission from the company is not required for the article to be created, and the absence of that permission is not a reason to delete it. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:41, 17 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
