Red links
editI have seen no evidence that red links encourage people to write articles. They just clutter up pages and make them look unprofessional. If a subject is notable, someone will write an article. Not every topic or person is important enough for an article. Spylab 16:10, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- That's as may be, but please see WP:RED - those links are relevant to the subject matter, and should not be removed simply because the pages don't exist yet. ShakingSpirittalk 16:17, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the barnstar
editI appreciate the recognition. I like helping to improve Wikipedia, and for some strange reason I enjoy vandal patrolling (at least when the automated tools like VandalProof are functional).

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as active at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you are or have been active on this project we feel you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Hello ShakingSpirit, I noticed you attempted to make a bot to detect dead external links. I thought you might want to become a member of WikiProject External links. The project has been quite inactive recently, which is a pitty. Your contributions would be appreciated a lot. Hope you can participate! I stumbled across your bot after having programmed Ocobot with a very similar scope to your project. — Ocolon 10:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
