Nair
editWelcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Nair. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --vi5in[talk] 15:10, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- For information to be added to Wikipedia, it has to be attributable. The Nair article is not an editorial. So regardless of what people feel, information can only be added if it is attributable. The information on the page is not based on the Manusmriti or Keralolpathi. It's based on fact. Nairs, though warriors, were considered Sudras by Namboothiris. Does it make them any less of a people? I don't think so. I'm a Nair myself, and I don't think it has any bearing on who I am or what I am. I am proud of my heritage nonetheless. So to sum up, information cannot be added unless it is attributable. Please don't delete any more information from that article. --vi5in[talk] 22:59, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- The article already states that they are Hindu Warriors. I see that your issue is with the whole Sudra thing. To be very honest, your posturing does very little other than amuse me. I'm trying my hardest to assume good faith in your matter, but you are making it very hard by making personal attacks. I don't think I've tried to hide beneath any pseudonym. In fact, my user page links to my personal website, and so my identity is there for all the see. Like I said before, information needs to be attributable. It's the only way it can be added. The information I have added is attributable. Finally, your deletion of the text without discussion is going to make this degenerate into a revert war. Here is what I propose; if you want to add information to the article, then bring any sources that you have that say that Nairs are Kshatriyas, or that Nairs followed the Kshatriya Dharma. Secondly, please do not delete already cited information from the article. If you continue down this path, you might end up getting blocked. Repeatedly deleting information from the article, not discussing your changes on the talk page, and making personal attacks will only get you blocked. I urge you to reconsider. As far as your tirade about my lack of intellectual or normal courage, I only say this: 1) I have a highly skilled job, and I graduated Cum Laude. 2) I just got back after serving a year in Iraq. I serve in the US Army National Guard. If you want to discuss this entire matter in a mature fashion, I will be glad to help. --vi5in[talk] 09:40, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please confine conversations about Wikipedia to my talk page, and not my website. Sir, I would expect better conduct from an officer. Being a soldier yourself you should understand that there is no caste, creed, or religion in the Military. Everyone is a servicemember. Please point me to this "diatribe" that you accuse me of. I find it odd that a seasoned military officer like yourself would engage in idle threats over the internet. I have been patient and friendly. But you want to get really personal. I am proud of my service in the military, and I am proud of my heritage. I have neither the time nor the inclination to "prove" any of this to you. It is completely unnecessary. I don't see where I am "denying them their place in history" in the article. I stick to facts. That's it. If you continue to harass me in this manner, I will have to report you to WP:ANI. --vi5in[talk] 19:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Recent edits
editHello. I noticed that you have been removing content from the Nair article, and others have been reverting your edits. Please understand that removing content, especially when it is of a controversial nature, is highly discouraged. If you disagree with something, please bring it up on the article's talk page, and people who have been working on the article will express their views, allowing everyone to arrive at a consensus.
Also, I would like to alert you about Wikipeida's policy that condemns personal attacks. Edits such as this are uncivil, and constitute as a personal attack. Wikipedia treats such cases seriously, and violators maybe be banned from editing per our blocking policy. Comment on content and not the contributor. If you need any clarifications, please post them on my talk page, and I'll get back to you.--thunderboltz(TALK) 06:38, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Please be more civil in the future and use your block time to review our policies. In particular, making personal attacks that carry the weight of personal threats may get you indefinitely blocked. Sandstein 20:17, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
