Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Shaliniscribe. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Shalini Singh, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 10:28, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Conflict of Interest
editSomeone had created a page using my name and photograph but with someone else’s profile.
I have merely tried to correct the profile to match my name and photograph Shaliniscribe (talk) 11:09, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- If I am understanding correctly, the person who is the topic of the article as per this link is not you, but at this stage you edited the article to turn it into an article about yourself, completely removing all mention of the previous person who shares the same name? The link provided is how the article looked before you began editing it. -- Longhair\talk 12:19, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
No Conflict of interest
editPlease try to understand.
There is a Wikipedia page with my name and my photograph but someone else’s profile.
Since I am a leading investigative journalist, it causes me professional damage - a sort of identity theft by which the other person gains from using my identity while I lose mine.
I seek your assistance

- I am listening and trying to understand the problem. What I see is that you began editing the article at the link I provided above. At that stage was that article about somebody else entirely who is also a journalist in Delhi who jut happens to share the same name, or am I mistaken? The conflict of interest is due to you editing an article about yourself. -- Longhair\talk 14:02, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
No conflict of interest.
editYes she is a journalist who also won the Prem Bhatia award though in a different category.
Nobody else notices the error of having my photograph clubbed with her Wiki profile.
Besides, nobody else is affected by this either.
Also, who else would have my accurate bio besides myself?
Therefore I took it upon myself to correct the error.
My Prem Bhatia Award Citation supports my claims of journalistic achievements as do the external links that I have provided.
Please help me resolve this.
Could you make a separate page for me. Verify my details independently?
I can provide many published interviews and articles Shaliniscribe (talk) 14:14, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, allow me to explain what I've found. Up until the moment you began editing the article, the article was about somebody else who shares the same name, similar job, from the same city? You say the article contained your photo but the subject was about the other journalist. Since, you have attempted to write an article about yourself, which is not advised at Wikipedia by the way, and is where the conflict of interest issues arise. I can find nothing in the article history relating to this article ever containing a photo of any kind during the entire time it's been online? Where was the photo, because from what I can see, this article has never contained any photograph at all. -- Longhair\talk 14:19, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- It has become obvious that there was never any photograph within the article and that you were in fact the one who assumed the identity of the article subject rather than you being the victim as suggested. I am blocking this account as it has only been used for vandalism and to deceive administrators who wasted their time to assist with your fraudulent complaint. -- Longhair\talk 12:33, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
