Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, ShantiBhavanTech. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. DBaK (talk) 08:59, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I'll use proper channels in the future and I have added to the talk page for a logo change. I was uncertain of the best way to proceed and there is a lot to go through. --ShantiBhavanTech (talk) 04:42, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Is this a shared username? (and spelling)

edit

Hi again. Sorry to bombard you with notices when you have just started here! I assure you that it is only meant in the best interests of the encyclopaedia.

You might want to have a look, please, at WP:ISU which talks about the problem of usernames which might imply shared or rotating/successive use. I worry that your current username, ShantiBhavanTech, might be such a name. If it was changed to YourNameShantiBhavanTech or ShantiBhavanTech-YourName there would be no problem because it would be clear that it was a personal account, not a corporate or role-based account. It might be wise for you to look into this proactively!

On spelling, I am not sure why you changed organisation to -ization a couple of times. Unless you have a very clear argument why, changes like this are often best avoided - you will find more detail at WP:ENGVAR. For now, I am changing them back but please feel free to take it to the article's Talk page and try to build consensus for the changes you'd like.

Hope this helps - please don't be put off, it's a great place really! (PS We watched the first two episodes of the Netflix series last night and were speechless with admiration.)

Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 09:07, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

It is not a shared login. The login will stay with me. --ShantiBhavanTech (talk) 04:44, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi ShantiBhavanTech, Are you able to upload copyright-free pictures to Wikimedia Commons so that they can be used on the Shanti Bhavan article? Ganeshk (talk) 00:35, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
