Hello SharqHabib! Your additions to Symbols of Islam have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sennecaster (What now?) 03:06, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Mosesheron. I noticed that you recently removed content from Islamic eschatology without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Also, please avoid using religious texts as sources. We always prefer secondary reliable sources above primary religious texts. Thanks. Mosesheron (talk) 21:58, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Aiyaz Ali

edit

The article Aiyaz Ali has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability, mentioned in passing in a few sources but hasn't been the focus of attention. Boxed in just one fight so far, may become notable in the future but not yet.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kaaba. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Hi. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. But I wanted to let you know that I have noticed some extremely troubling aspects of your Wikipedia editing. For example, you have been constantly removing valid content, particularly from Islam related articles, without adequately explaining why those contents should not be on Wikipedia. I feel the necessity to remind you that you must not remove valid content from articles without a valid cause. A talk page discussion is always encouraged. Again, you've been using religious books as references in most of the Islam-related articles I've seen. Worse, you are even using Youtube as a source of reference such as here. Pease note that Wikipedia articles are supposed to be written on secondary reliable sources. Also there are cases where it seems to me that you are deviating from WP:NPOV, such as here. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Take this message as an opportunity to correct your previous mistakes. Also note that I will be paying a very close attention to edits from now on. I'll keep an eye on your progress, and if you don't follow the regulations and rules, I'll ask for a topic ban in the near future, since I believe your editing of Islam-related articles is extremely troubling, and I believe you aren't listening to what others are telling you. Thanks. Mosesheron (talk) 22:53, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not censored. So please do not remove images from articles as you did here. Thanks.
Can you please explain why you removed this?
The user who reverted your edit here referred to MOS:INFOBOXFLAG, according to which "flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field". Yet you have readded the flag icons by this edit which is clearly edit warring. It seems to me you have no intention to adhere to our policies and guidelines. I am going to report you soon. Mosesheron (talk) 15:33, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
And what about this? What is the rationale behind such a change? All the sources I see refer to her as Noushin Ahmadi Khorasani. You are ruining these articles in my opinion, which I think can longer be tolerated. Mosesheron (talk) 15:40, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

But in the Mashriq article, there are flags mate, I have seen flags on infoboxes 11:52, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Flag icons in the infobox is no big deal. Look, although I have reported you at the ANI, I can recognize that you are making useful contributions as well, and I believe you have a lot of potential to become a very productive editor on this project. All you have to do is follow our policies and guidelines when making changes to articles. I am very happy to see your reply. Please try to respond to people, brother, especially if they voice concerns with your editing patterns. Also, as long as the concerns are not addressed, don't delete conversations from your talk page as you did here. I assume that was an innocent mistake. That is why I have restored it. Mosesheron (talk) 14:13, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Habib, brother. Please take a look at this ANI report about you. I am expecting a reply from you there. If you promise that you will abide by our policies and guidelines, I will withdraw that report. Mosesheron (talk) 14:18, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Islamic eschatology into Signs of the appearance of Mahdi. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:19, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Tomb of Ali

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tomb of Ali requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your contributed article, Military career of Abu Bakr

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Military career of Abu Bakr. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Abu_Bakr#Military_campaigns_under_Muhammad. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Abu_Bakr#Military_campaigns_under_Muhammad. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ... discospinster talk 01:22, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

If I change the text on the page, will I save it from deletion? 01:22, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

Even if it's written differently, it's still the same content. If you think the Military career should be a separate article, it would have to be split off in a certain way rather than simply copy and pasting. ... discospinster talk 16:55, 8 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

edit

The article Return of Isa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Redundant fork of Second coming.

Hello, I'm IronManCap. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Mehmet Bozdağ, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. IronManCap (talk) 12:35, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Discussion at ANI

edit

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is SharqHabib. Thank you.

Some pointers for improving your editing

edit

Dear SharqHabib,

It's a pity that you only respond when there's a report on ANI, but I'm still glad to have your attention. I'm just going to point out a few things and give you some Wikipedia policy and guidelines to read.

  • Please do not change the text while keeping the source, like you do in most of your edits. This is what most of the warnings above are about. Either remove both text and source (and explain in the edit summary on the basis of which policy you are removing it), or add new text based on a new source. Any new info must be verifiable in reliable sources. Reliable mostly means that sources are independent from the subject matter (e.g., a Muslim writing on Islamic topics from a believer's point of view is not independent) and that there is some form of editorial oversight (editors from the publishing house reading and correcting the author's work before publication, such as at academic publishers or quality newspapers). Please read Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia: Reliable sources.
  • It's not allowed to remove info because you know it to be false or because it does not align with you personal point of view (POV). It's also not allowed to add info that most reliable sources do not mention because you know it to be true or because it does align with your personal point of view (POV). At Wikipedia, we don't write down what we personally know, but only what the majority of sources tell us: we write down the points of view (POVs) of sources. We never remove or add anything to Wikipedia if we haven't read multiple reliable sources on the subject. We follow sources also in the amount of coverage we give to things (a similar proportion of coverage as in the sources we call "due", more coverage than in the sources we call "undue"). Please read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.
  • The article Names and titles of Jesus in the Quran which you created is partially based on religious websites that do not qualify as reliable because they're not independent and are lacking in editorial oversight (see above). However, the article is mostly based on direct references to the Quran. The Quran is what we call a primary source, which at Wikipedia is used only for literal quotes. Any interpretation, evaluation, or other statement about a primary source like the Quran must be based upon a source that writes about the Quran (this we call a secondary source), not on the Quran itself. Basing statements directly upon a primary source like the Quran itself is what we call original research, which is strictly forbidden at Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia:No original research.

I know this is a lot to read, but it is absolutely necessary to understand core content policy to successfully edit at Wikipedia. If after reading through all of this you still have some questions, you can always come and ask them at my talk page or at the Teahouse. If you're unsure, it's always better to ask some experienced editor first. Also, after having read the pages linked to above, you may want to explain in your own words how and why your previous edits breached these policies, which will show us that you understand and that you will know how to avoid them in the future.

Thanks for your attention, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 03:10, 29 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Turks in Pakistan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hazara. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SharqHabib, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Saraikistan National Party Flag.png

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Saraikistan National Party Flag.png, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Terasail[✉️] 00:23, 26 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
