In general, you should avoid removing cleanup notices from an article without discussing and fixing the issue in question, or if the cleanup message simply does not belong. And in particular please do not remove AFD notices from an article; doing so will not prevent the article from being discussed. If you disagree with an AFD nomination then please join in the AFD discussions and contribute.
I do notice you are the one who originally started this article (and are a major contributor to it), so you definitely should see the AFD nominations. Keep in mind official policies such as verifiability and What Wikipedia is not, articles that do not comply with official policies are often nominated for deletion and removed. --Stratadrake 11:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
