- Hi Liance, many thanks for the reply. I am new to wiki but willing to learn. I fully understand your point on referencing, I did include all the references that are known for this society (it's a subject not really discovered which is why I am trying to make a historical document for it). I did link ALL the members names to wiki pages in existence and I did link subject content battle of boyne, culladon etc to their respective wiki sites also. If I am reading this correctly, rather than linking to the wiki page, you would rather I use some of their references instead? Surely this is a duplicated effort? I have pictures of the 1801 list, real medals and members pictures in my possession, but for whatever reason if I try and upload one I keep getting an error message saying I can't do it. So don't understand why that is. They are also not published pictures so what good is a reference?
- Let me know on the references as I can add hundreds for each battle and member, but it's rather silly considering what I am trying to achieve. Once the article is accepted, I will go to each member listed and add a line about their membership of the Orange and Blew and link it accordingly but can't do that without a page to refer to.
- Any assistance would be appreciated.
- Thanks

- Hi Sheckles384 - yes, on Wikipedia we require information to be verifiable so you are required to include citations to external, reliable, secondary sources. You don't necessarily need to do so for every entry in a list but any stated facts should be cited. I see that you have supplemented the content with references since my last review so I will allow another editor to take a look now, it is a great improvement. Hope this helps. ~Liancetalk 17:21, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

- I disagree with this assessment, not only is the recipient worthy of an article due to the battles, awards and historical value, it also has more references than a lot of articles I have seen published on Wiki (Sir Robert Rich, 5th Baronet is a prime example of this). The whole experience with Wiki has been degrading, disillusioned and quite frankly arrogant responses by some of the editorial ream, I am disgusted! Denying Historical content is akin to sticking your head in the sand and going la la de la la Sheckles384 (talk) 08:38, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- Homfray, and I assume Gordon, are just passing mentions/database entries insufficient to count towards notability. This statement alone has just made every secondary source on Wiki irrelevant and on that basis 98% of all wiki articles should be culled. Sheckles384 (talk) 08:50, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
