Full names of honours recipients
editUnfortunately, their names are public record, as they have been "paraded" in the London Gazette and elsewhere. If someone is uncomfortable with their name, there are legal options for them to pursue, such as having it changed to a name they are comfortable with. The manual of style for biographies states that full names should be used in the opening sentence. Here's the official policy if you're interested, from Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies)
While the article title should generally be the name by which the subject is most commonly known, the subject's full name should be given in the lead paragraph, if known. Many cultures have a tradition of not using the full name of a person in everyday reference, but the article should start with the complete version.
