Goldfields way

edit

Hallo and welcome to Wikipedia. There are a few problems with this page, your first one, and it might get deleted eventually, but I'll point out some things which you can change or get better another time:

  • The page name should be "Goldfields Way" with a capital W, because it's a proper name.
  • Ah, I see there's an article there already. So yours should be "Goldfields Way, Greetland", and there should be a "Hatnote" (hat because it goes on top of the article) on the Goldfields Way article to point to yours. I'll leave that for now, because until you've told us why the road is "notable" there's not much chance of the article surviving.
  • You haven't told us where Greetland is. Is it the Greetland in West Yorkshire? Or one somewhere else, perhaps not in the UK? If it's the West Yorkshire one, then make a link to the article. In any case, add the county/state/country as appropriate (eg "Goldfields Way is a street in Greetland, Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England" if that's the case).
  • You're using too many words - "located" isn't needed.
  • You haven't given a source for your information, known as a reference - tell us what book or map confirms that the street exists.
  • You haven't told us why this street is WP:Notable. Not every street in the world needs a Wikipedia page.
  • What you've written needs better capitals and punctuation: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, so you need to write carefully for it.
  • It's an "orphan" - there are no links to this page from any other pages.
  • It's a "dead end" - you didn't make any links to other pages from it.
  • You haven't given the article any "categories" (like Category:Streets in England).

Good luck in your Wikipedia editing. PamD (talk) 13:20, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

TOO LATE: I see that Goldfields way has now been deleted as "‎ (Expired PROD, concern was: unsourced article about a non-notable street in a small town.)" I hope that you'll continue to edit Wikipedia even after this disappointment. PamD (talk) 07:29, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
