rankings
editPlease be careful in updating rankings as you did with Petra Kvitová. The WTA updates their rankings on Mondays and until that time they are unofficial because a player could retire from tennis whereby their ranking would be removed in the interim. Unlikely maybe but otherwise it's speculation which wikipedia does not allow. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 14:44, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Yvonne Meusburger
editHello,
Thank you for your interest in editing the article, "Yvonne Meusburger". However, I have found your recent edits to make the article unnecessarily long and faulty. For example, the final line of the "2014 : Breakthrough" section says that Meusburger will appear in Bastad and Baku, but she is not scheduled to play in either of these tournaments (she is listed under "Withdrawals" for each tournament). Please do not add incorrect information to a previously well-revised article before checking and confirming its validity. Further edits like these can result in ban of editing.
Thank you, Zane Nariman

Image licenses
editHi Silaslej. In general Wikipedia does not use images taken from other websites. Images like the ones you've uploaded of tennis players are usually taken by commercial photographers who expect to be paid for their use; we almost never use such images. If you want images of these players you will need to either take them yourself, or convince the copyright holder to release them under a free licence. Please note that any image found on the internet is likely copyrighted and most can never be used on Wikipedia - Peripitus (Talk) 11:15, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
Petra Kvitova
editHi. As mentioned, Grand Slams are not WTA events and should not be named such in the article. "Contentious material that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately".
WTATennis.com is not a reliable source in this case, because it contains a contradiction. You're right about it making the incorrect assertion that she has won "16 WTA" titles. However, when one scrolls over the "Womens" bar at the top, the site correctly states that "Grand Slams are not WTA events." Therefore, that should not be used as a source. Thank you for pointing it out, though. -- James26 (talk) 01:01, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- At the top of the WTA page, one can move their cursor over the words "Mens" and "Womens," which provides a list of tour tournaments. That also provides the explanation that WTA events are not Grand Slams. Anyway, I've added a new source for her titles, from ESPN, with correct information on this matter. Thank you. -- James26 (talk) 08:41, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Re-nominate Petra Kvitova as a Good Article?
editHi Silaslej, I saw that you have nominated Petra Kvitová as a good article before, and it did not pass. If you nominate it again, I would be happy to review it. I've nominated 15 good articles for the Tennis WikiProject. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 02:46, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi, may i know on the process of nomination again? Its been a year since i did that and i kind of forgot parts of it how its done. Thanks. slej (talk) 14:45, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Silaslej, to nominate an article (in sports), copy and paste
{{subst:GAN|subtopic=Sports and recreation}}
at the top of the talk page. Another editor (in this case, presumably me) will then start a review and leave comments on how to improve the article so that it meets the Good Article criteria. I think most of the article on Kvitová is already in good shape, and ready for a review. Sportsfan77777 (talk) 02:11, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
