Adoption

edit

Hi, I noticed your entry in the adoption programme; I've been here for about 1-2 years, perhaps I can help you out. What do you say? Also, I removed the adoption template and placed it in your user page. Cheers, Zacharycrimsonwolf 03:46, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi crimsonwolf I am desperately in need of adoption! Just the fact that I have been adding content to wikipedia for the past few days and still had not noticed your offer shows you how I am struggling! I find editing wikipedia one of the most painful/difficult/unintuitive processes I have been through! Having said that I do love and respect all the checks and balances. It is just things like uploading an image - I have had to add the SPECIAL UPLOAD page as a 'favourite' because it seems impossible to find it otherwise! I have uploaded two images that I have been told I need to edit to justify their use but when I go to the relevant page can find no edit option. For the record, I was given both images by John Illsley himself. There didnt seem to be a category that fitted this explanation. Is there anyway of phisically getting some training with someone? I would love to edit wikipedia more but find it an incredibly difficult process and dont think that will be helped by e-chat! It took me long enough to figure out how to reply to you! Many thanks silenceleeSilencelee (talk) 16:25, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Silencelee, I noticed your reply and would be happy to help with any of your questions, it looks like Zachary crimsonwolf has not been online for the past few days. So one way you could get help without posting here would be to use IRC, to get in touch with me and other helpers via chat, go to [1] select freenode, choose a nickname, and the channel #wikipedia-en-help. Further to adoption, I would be happy to be your adopter, and help out. As to physically getting help, that is unlikely to work out, but IRC is very user-friendly, and you will be able to get in touch with loads of helpers. I hope to get in touch.--Res2216firestar 17:32, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

thanks firestar! I have been adopted! I've been to mibbit but havent had any reply...I've figured out how to remove tags (doh!) but still need to sort out the John Illsley images and check that my referencing on the BEAUTIFUL YOU page has been done correctly. thanks Silencelee (talk) 10:16, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cool, one more thing: Who adopted you? All I see is the userbox I put up to show that I had offered to adopt you--Res2216firestar 17:44, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have been to the page you mentioned but cannot find anywhere to edit this information. I was supplied with both images by John Illsley - there does not seem to be a category for this? Help silenceleeSilencelee (talk) 16:27, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
