Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Aosta may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Hi, I answered! ;) CapPixel (talk) 19:11, 30 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Search for "requested move" here in wikipedia and follow the instructions. CapPixel (talk) 12:13, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I looked for the link you asked, but I can't find it, sorry. Anyway, in every other articles we use the official abbreviations (excluding clubs with unique and widespread common names and Carpi), and I don't see why the S.C. Vallée d'Aoste article should be different. ;) CapPixel (talk) 12:44, 30 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Valdostan vs. Valdotanian

edit

Hello Simoncik84,

you can e.g. check the google books results for valdostan and valdotanian. Nearly all matches for valdotanian are Wikipedia mirrors (books that are not wrtitten by real authors, but merely copy content from Wikipedia). This is a good indicator for the usage of both terms in English. Kind regards. --RJFF (talk) 15:31, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

I don't know. The word "valdotainian" seems not to exist in English. --RJFF (talk) 17:33, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Valpelline (valley), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mont Gelé. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Italian exonyms, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gressoney. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

WikiProject Vallée d'Aoste/Valle d'Aosta

edit

Hi Simon,

As a fellow native of our unique region, I would like to try to constitute a WikiProject centered around the horizontal and vertical improvement of Aosta Valley articles with other interested editors - something akin to other autonomous regions within namely unitary countries, like WP:GREENLAND, WP:CATALONIA or WP:FAROE ISLANDS. Would you be interested in helping to set up a WikiProject like that? Any names of other editors we could rope in?

Cheers, Pilaz (talk) 11:21, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Piedmontese Name for Aosta

edit

Since you are a native of the Aosta Valley, [which that is crazy to think about the fact that it has only around 100,000, but I am from the United States, where just about every state has a population of at least 1,000,000 people], thus making YOU virtually THE source on matter pertaining to the region, and I will respect your opinions on it. But tell me, is Italy more unified than it may seem with the various tongues that are fluid in the classifications between dialects and languages, or is it really many similar, but still distinct, LANGUAGES? I could ask the same thing to someone from France or Germany, or even Spain, and there might be numerous opinions on both sides. It is harder for me to know since I live in a country where just about everyone speaks English primarily, though I do know a lot about global geographic boundaries of languages and their orthographies, so could you explain from your experience please? Noaius Paticus (talk) 23:42, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also I assume that autochtone means native right? Noaius Paticus (talk) 23:45, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi, yes by autochtone I meant native (I confused it with the French term "autochtone"). In Italy there are various languages, an article explains this information better that I could ever do: Languages of Italy. Simoncik84 (talk) 09:53, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also I check the different language Wikipedias for my information, and as long as it sounds authentic, I put it in. I also want them to sound in the style of the language like even Disione for Dijon, which I like better than just plain Dijon. But for Latina names, that is VERY bene, as I have actually a strong knowledge of it. Noaius Paticus (talk) 13:18, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
