Thanks for uploading File:NewYorkNewYork HisGreatestHits.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Please stop creating unsourced album articles

edit

Please stop creating unsourced album articles such as Sinatra Sings Cole Porter. Doing so is in violation of the requirements for a stand alone article. Active Banana (bananaphone 18:25, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sinatra1969:Did you have any followup discussion with ActiveBanana or other editors about his demand that you not create this album article? I contend that Sinatra Sings Cole Porter is sufficiently noteworthy and deserving a separate WP article, and that it is not at all in violation of the requirements for a stand alone article. Notability requires mainly that a topic be documented by significant verifiable third-party sources, and specifically states that the article in question may be valid even without citing those sources, though it may be liable for deletion if it's challenged and the sources cannot be found and cited. I have located what I believe will generally be accepted as significant external non-promotional sources of documentation about this Columbia Legacy album. I note three other relevant factors:
  1. The user making this demand simultaneously took the additional step of redirecting your album page to Frank Sinatra, an unwarranted enforcement action of his "unsourced, non-notable" opinion, making it more difficult for readers to even learn on WP that this 2003 album exists.
  2. This user evidently engaged in a significant number of article deletion controversies, and was cited in at least one (inconclusive) Administrators' Notice/Incident before publicly renouncing his WP user-id in a huff in January 2013. See his goodbye note at User talk:InActive Banana
  3. The very existence of WikiProject albums and its Infobox Album template suggests a potent counterargument to Active Banana's non-notable album critique. A great many WP-documented albums strike me personally as way less notable, though that's of course just an opinion, not a sufficient ground for deleting or redirecting those articles.
After some searching, I can find no further reference to your original topic page on the album, nor any persuasive policy or guideline discussion that supports the redirect. Also I find no other albums subjected to similar constraining edits, though I'm not sure I know how to search for those. If you are unaware of/uninvolved in further discussions about your article and Active Banana's action, I propose to revert the Redirect, thus restoring your original May 27, 2011 article on the album, and will insert a few source citations when I get a minute. Please feel free to correct my action if appropriate.

S1969: Now, after the fact, I notice that the article text reflects quite directly the Allmusic review by William Ruhlmann of this Sinatra compilation album. I can edit the WP article, citing Ruhlmann's review and combining it with information from reviews in CD-Universe, album review by CHRIS M. SLAWECKI in All-About-Jazz, and the album's liner notes by Will Friedwald. Before doing so though, I just wanted to check with you if you prefer that I leave your text as is, relying on your authority to use Ruhlmann's text. Your thoughts?Bookerj (talk) 23:53, 16 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sinatra: Standing Room Only moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Sinatra: Standing Room Only, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Live from Las Vegas (Frank Sinatra album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maybe This Time (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
