Faridkot district

edit

I do not understand why you think this article is redundant... it is clearly about the larger district, while Faridkot, Punjab is about the city. I have declined to delete the article. If you have any questions you can reach me on my talk page. -RunningOnBrains(talk) 05:21, 4 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your reasoning makes no sense. If you search for Faridkot, you are brought to an article which summarizes the different places which have the same name. If you search for Faridkot, Punjab, you are brought to an article about the city. If you search for Faridkot district, you are brought to an article about the district. Per Wikipedia policy, if two different things, places, or people have the same name, they should have different articles, because they are not the same. I fail to see where anyone could be confused, especially because there is a link at the top of the Faridkot district page leading to the article about the city.
And as far as "no one wants to collect statistics", named geographical places are almost always inherently notable, and so they all deserve their own article, especially when a good deal of reliably sourced information is available, as in this case.-RunningOnBrains(talk) 05:43, 4 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
There is nothing stopping you from editing the article. I will make the changes if you'd like, but the only thing I'm preventing you from doing is nominating the page for speedy deletion, which is what you did when you added the {{delete}} template. If you would like to make your case for deletion to the wider community, you can take the page to WP:Articles for Deletion, but I have to say I think it is unlikely that others will agree with you. -RunningOnBrains(talk) 05:59, 4 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Also a list of educational institutes is considered as un-encyclopedic. It was clearly written there on the talk page. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 10:45, 4 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
