Welcome!editHi, Singora. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page contains a lot of helpful material for new users—please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place I'd also like to say nice work on the Sultanate of Singgora article. As a new article, you might like to consider nominating it for the Did you know section of the main page. --Paul_012 (talk) 02:02, 3 January 2014 (UTC) Sometimes this process can be slow to get moving as there is a shortage of reviewers. Anyway, have made some comments - a nice read. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 19:49, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
Just checking whether at FAC...edit...you might consider taking a look at Warlugulong, a shortish article about a painting, and commenting at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Warlugulong/archive1? It is languishing near the bottom of the list and, while I've been doing my best at reviewing other articles, isn't getting much attention. Thanks for your work at FAC regardless! hamiltonstone (talk) 01:39, 13 May 2014 (UTC) OKAY! I'll help. Singora (talk) 06:51, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Main Page appearance: Sultanate of SingoraeditThis is a note to let the main editors of Sultanate of Singora know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on June 4, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at present, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 4, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:
You (and your talk-page stalkers) may also be interested to hear that there have been some changes at the TFA requests page recently. Nominators no longer need to calculate how many "points" an article has, the instructions have been simplified, and there's a new nomination system using templates based on those used for DYK suggestions. Please consider nominating another article, or commenting on an existing nomination, and leaving some feedback on your experience. Thank you. UcuchaBot (talk) 23:01, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
PreciouseditSingora I'd like to add my congratulations and thanks. This article revealed to me an area of Thai history that I knew nothing about. --Heron (talk) 09:47, 4 June 2014 (UTC) A year ago, you were the 876th recipient of my PumpkinSky Prize, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:41, 4 June 2015 (UTC) Two years ago, you were recipient no. 876 of Precious, a prize of QAI! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:52, 4 June 2016 (UTC) Cannon imageeditHi. I have a question about File:Singora cannon.jpg. At the article's FAC, you mentioned that you had permission from the owner to use it, but on the file description page, it's listed as "own work"; what is the case? If the author (the one who took the photograph) gave permission to release the image under the CC-By-SA 3.0 licence, you'll need to list his/her name on the file description page. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:10, 17 December 2014 (UTC) Hi. The image I discussed at the FAC is shown left. The owner allowed me to use it on condition his name was given as copyright holder. Someone at FAC (I can't remember who) suggested it was best not to use it. This photo can probably be deleted. The photo I'm now using was given to me. The photographer sent me the original, full-size master and gave permission to do with it as I want. I am therefore the owner of the image. It's the same when you sell a photo to Getty Images: by agreeing to sell, you relinquish ownership and grant copyright to the purchaser. I was also given a photo of the cannon by Hew Prendergast, great grandson of General Sir Harry Prendergast, the man who defeated Burma in the third Anglo-Burmese war. It was Harry Prendergast who sent the Singora cannon back to England. Hew also said I could use his photo in whatever way I wanted without needing to credit him as the photographer. Thank you!editI do so appreciate your kind words and wanted to extend my congratulations to you for the wonderfully written article you created and had promoted to FA. If more editors could experience the rigors of a FA review and get more articles promoted, it may change the current status of WP's reliability as an accepted source to be cited and/or recommended by academia. After all, we have a substantial number of academics and topic experts contributing so it shouldn't be too difficult a task. Perhaps some day we could collaborate on some articles and get them promoted. Also wanted to mention that one of my good friends here on Bonaire is from Thailand and visits her family there quite often. I hear the diving there is incredible. --Atsme📞📧 14:10, 5 June 2015 (UTC) ThankseditHi Singora. Now the dust has settled on the Maya civilization FAC, I just wanted to say many thanks for taking the time to look at the article, and for supporting its promotion - after an epic haul it made FA at the weekend. Best regards, Simon Burchell (talk) 09:12, 29 July 2015 (UTC) DYK for Buçaco Forestedit
This place looks really cool. A friend of mine is there at the moment posting pics on his FB feed. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 09:06, 4 June 2016 (UTC) DYK for Seri RambaieditOn 6 May 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Seri Rambai, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Seri Rambai cannon in Penang, Malaysia, is considered a fertility symbol? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Seri Rambai. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Seri Rambai), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. Pha Kho and Phra KhoeditYou're spelling it wrong. it has to be Pha Kho (พะโคะ), but you spell Phra (พระ), it's meaning "Monk" in Thai. and in Sathing Phra don't had a temple name Phra Kho (พระโค ? - holy cows ?), but had Pha Kho only. If you make a miss spelling, the meaning changed. Thx. --แอนเดอร์สัน (talk) 16:03, 27 August 2016 (UTC) 2016 Year in Reviewedit

@Beeblebrox: Registering my disagreement with this action. I may not like Singora's behavior in certain instances but I think there's a way forward and they should be allowed to interact here. No one likes having their communications called "spam" or "shit" but I can understand the reaction and advocate for this editor to be treated fairly. --Laser brain (talk) 20:02, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
@Beeblebrox, Drmies, and Casliber: Hi guys. All is good. I can't buy into this collaborative stuff: my Team Leader was assassinated in BKK back in 2002 and since then I work alone. We all do. I can forward details to CasLiber. I've done some good things on this website. As discussed with CasLiber, I'd like to finish the Buçaco Forest article and bring it up to FA level. The missing fauna section can be sourced from a single PhD thesis. After that I can finish off an article about Macau, which is 90% done and FA standard. For the record, I figured I could never be the best writer or researcher on Wikipedia, so I focused on bibliographies. I think I did a good job: I think my bibliographies are among the best on your website.
Singora: Commentsedit@Beeblebrox, Drmies, and Casliber: CasLiber has asked me to repeat this: "Whatever happens to me (re: unblock), please convey my respects to Blofeld. He's far more important to the project than me, and it'd be a shame if you were to lose him." Singora (talk) 15:20, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
Comments to Dr BlofeldeditComments to @Dr Blofeld and Casliber: I don't have too much time for this, so I'll sum up briefly: 1. Mr Blofeld, my a/c probably won't get unblocked. 2. Your mission -- if you choose to accept it -- is to complete the Bussaco Forest article. Work together with CasLiber. 3. The "missing fauna section" all comes off a single PhD thesis (it's in the sources). You can manage this. 5. User The_Bounder recently deleted a quote from a Portuguese guy who won the Nobel Prize in Literature. See the history. CasLiber has put it back, but it's wrong. It was better the way I had it before. (Personal attack removed) 6. Peer Reviews. I contacted Dr Matos (see the sources) and asked for feedback, but she never replied. Ask CasLiber for an introduction to Dean Nicolle. Mr Nicolle measured one of the forest's eucalypts back in 2011, and CasLiber knows him. Contact the guy, and ask him (politely) to do a peer review. 7. I'll contact you you again in due course re: the Macau article. Singora (talk) 06:23, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
April 2017editI've removed your PA on SchroCat, Singora. Do not add it back or you'll be reported. CassiantoTalk 06:57, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
