The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Sixtine, Good start and you're doing everything in the correct format once you apply the Reflinks tool! Before you do that though, be more thorough in your search. You should search the CPJ site. You also want more articles from quality publications like the BBC citation you have already included. The BBC is good. Choose reliable news organizations like it. In contrast, The Huffington Post is a blog and not reliable. Do another round of searches, and I'll take another look at it when you are done. Crtew (talk) 21:02, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
