Before you create any more pages

edit

(such as Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Adventures of Montu miah, Wikipedia:Articles for creation/The Adventures of Montu miah, Category talk:The adventure of Montu miah & Category:The adventure of Montu miah)...

  1. Please start by going through and reading the WIkipedia Tutorial. 'Montu miah' appears to be important to you but for an article on a subject to be part of Wikipedia, the editor who creates the article has to prove the subject is notable. As far as I can tell, this particular cartoon had three episodes presented on a Bangladeshi national TV channel, but the assertions about its notability are not referenced from multiple, published, independent reliable sources.
  2. VIsit the WP:Teahouse and ask for assistance there.
  3. Consider visiting the Bengali Wikipedia (Main page of Bengali wikipedia) and ask for assistance in writing an article about 'Montu miah' for that Wikipedia project.

Thank you, Shearonink (talk) 05:48, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I even don't know how to "talk" So here I am posting my side of argument.
You said 'Montu miah' appears to be important to you but for an article on a subject to be part of Wikipedia, the editor who creates the article has to prove the subject is notable.
My reply Well it's not only important to me but Bengali entertainment community. This is the first cartoon created in Bangladesh and broacasted by a national TV channel. It's a history even in Indian subcontinent level.I have seen the articles in [notable] section; and with respect I think I have added 3 newspaper article with date of publications. 2 of them Was scanned and uploaded as Images.
This in fact Provides referenced from multiple, published, independent Sources which you suggested.
And a reference link of the POSER software publisher. Which proves the authenticity of this article well enough.
You said As far as I can tell, this particular cartoon had three episodes presented on a Bangladeshi national TV channel, but the assertions about its notability are not referenced from multiple, published, independent reliable sources.
My reply Well there was 3 episodes broadcasted by ETV and other 3 was from 'Channel I' so there was in total six episodes released. so it's total six. And I don't see how I can provide any reference since Bangladesh adapted digital archiving not before 2005-2007. There is no online resources to prove this except public blogs and stolen youtube clips.
You said VIsit the WP:Teahouse and ask for assistance there.
My reply Thanks and I did. Also posted my problem and got a reply below.
You saidConsider visiting the Bengali Wikipedia (Main page of Bengali wikipedia) and ask for assistance in writing an article about 'Montu miah' for that Wikipedia project.
My reply Just did.
Thank you, Sjmahmood (talk) 13:22, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
The POSER software publisher website reference does not appear to be independent, it is an endorsement of the software from the animating company itself.
SCanning and uploading images of newspapers or magazines is not necessary to use the mateirl as references for a Wikipedia article. Please refer to Referencing for beginners and to the "Easy" referencing section above for some help in adding your references to your 'Montu miah' WP:AFC. Shearonink (talk) 19:46, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
By the way, the 'Montu miah' Category page and the 'Montu miah' Category talk page that you created are malformed and have been nominated for deletion. This is a non-controversial housekeeping move and is no reflection on your 'Montu miah' Article for Creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Adventures of Montu miah. References not online

edit

You were asking at the Teahouse about how to deal with references that are not online. The answer is that references do not need to be online, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners#References not online. - David Biddulph (talk) 12:45, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adding references is easy...really!

edit

Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Hello! Here's how to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Adding a well formatted references is very easy to do.

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "Cite".
  2. Click on it.
  3. Then click on "Templates"
  4. Choose the most appropriate template and fill as many details as you can. This will add a well formatted reference that is helpful in case the website link (web URL) becomes inactive (dead/link rot) after some time.

You can read more about it on Help:Edit toolbar or see this video File:RefTools.ogv.
Hope this helps, Shearonink (talk) 19:31, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not quite so easy. My edit toolbar doesn't look like that, so you may need to tell us which settings in Special:Preferences need changing. - David Biddulph (talk) 20:09, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
It is the default, see this section of WP:RefToolbar 2.0. Shearonink (talk) 01:58, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the pointer. From that link I could see that I had the old Wikipedia:RefToolbar 1.0, & could see which preference to change to get the new default. - David Biddulph (talk) 02:25, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Did you type it manually or posted some template? --Tito Dutta (talk) 12:19, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Montu Miah with Blue fairy.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Montu Miah with Blue fairy.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NtheP (talk) 20:27, 13 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
