RE: Deletion of articles
editDr Skarbek,
In response to your message on my talk page, I nominated the articles for deletion for more than just the advertising reason mentioned above. Before I nominated them, I did a quick search of both terms. I did not see any obvious reliable sources to back them up, which Wikipedia requires per the verifiability policy. That policy, in a nutshell, states:
“ |
|
” |
Thus, even if the articles weren't strictly advertising, they would have been candidates for deletion anyhow as there does not appear to be said reliable sources to back them up. Wikipedia is not the place for new material (usually referred to as original research) that isn't already covered in a RS. This is also covered in WP:V:
“ | The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. | ” |
Lastly, please note I am not an admin and I cannot delete articles myself. As such, I only nominated the articles for speedy deletion. An admin has to agree that it should be deleted, which he/she/they did.
I hope this explains the reason these articles were deleted. If you have any further concerns or questions, let me know. --AbsolutDan (talk) 20:07, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
