Political POV edits
editHello Skipingrock. I was concerned about two edits that you made to the articles of Californian politicians, and I have reverted them. Articles about political figures should include notable criticisms of their policies, but the criticism must be referenced to reliable sources. Also please take great care with biographies of living persons. Don't forget that you can always discuss your contributions with other editors on the article talk pages. I'm sure you will soon learn the ropes and can start making useful additions to the encyclopedia. Itsmejudith (talk) 15:52, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hello again Skipingrock. There are improvements that need to be made to the articles about these two politicians. The views of the NRA about them are notable and this can usefully be added to the articles. The point is that the overall balance of each article must be neutral and not endorse the view either of the politician or the criticism. Please see the neutral point of view policy. I was disappointed that you saw fit to attribute a political stace to my edits. None was intended. Itsmejudith (talk) 22:32, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- I cleaned out the NPOV issues you once again introduced to the DeSaulnier article. For the De León article, the text was removed with the exception of his F grade from the NRA. Please see WP:NPOV. Thanks.User:calbear22 (talk) 00:23, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message on my talk page. I am going to be working a bit on both articles as originally they were too much like adverts for the politicians. This often happens. I am also doing very boring stuff like checking the grammar. Please visit these articles and if you have suggestions I would be happy to discuss them with you on the talk pages. Edit warring
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Barack Obama. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Grsztalk 02:55, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Obama
editPlease stop adding the NRA rating material to Barack Obama -- the longer sub-article Political positions of Barack Obama is where that material already is. The section in the main article is just a summary and can't go into that level of detail. Thank you for your cooperation. Tvoz |talk 03:00, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 10:40, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Notability of Jus Brothers
editA tag has been placed on Jus Brothers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rocksanddirt (talk) 19:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
