Unfortunately, we can't pretend that the charity visit wasn't made just because the political aspect might be disagreeable or discomfiting to a Western European audience. Fine by me. I assume the German media is much more alert when it comes to exposing–and suppressing–Balkan nationalism since the Bundesliga contains many players from the region and because of Germany's role in the disintegration of Yugoslavia and its myriad conflicts.
