Welcome (again!)

edit

Welcome! I know you've been welcomed but I'll pass on some links related to U.S. roads:

Welcome!

Hello, Skyman9999, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions relating to roads. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

It appears that you have an interest in editing roads articles. For that, we have several projects (called WikiProjects) available for you: United States Roads, Canada Roads, and highways (worldwide). Feel free to join these projects, where quite a few of us have come together to collaborate.

Just as highways signs in the United States have to adhere to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, we at Wikipedia and the United States Roads WikiProject have some standards that we request editors to follow. Please become familiar with the Wikipedia and U.S. Roads standards by checking out Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Standards. Editors that do not edit U.S. road articles only need to peruse the Wikipedia Manual of Style.

Additional road article-related questions can be answered at the following links: United States, Canada, or other countries. You may also ask questions at my talk page.

Feel free to ask questions at #wikipedia-en-roads on IRC as well. Here, we have several editors who are willing to ask questions. For more information, see WP:HWY/IRC.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian and a roadfan! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date. Again, welcome! Rschen7754 (T C) 04:25, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Beale Memorial Clock Tower

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Beale Memorial Clock Tower, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.geodig.com/d/geo/na/us/ca/bak/bak.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:07, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Bakersfield Country Club

edit

A tag has been placed on Bakersfield Country Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Articles for deletion nomination of Centennial Corridor

edit

I have nominated Centennial Corridor, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Centennial Corridor. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Imzadi 1979  18:58, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Bakersfield Freeway Network

edit

The article Bakersfield Freeway Network has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The concept is WP:OR; as the article itself says, there was no one master plan for this "network" that was constructed by the author.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rschen7754 06:14, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Bakersfield Freeway Network for deletion

edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Bakersfield Freeway Network, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bakersfield Freeway Network until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Rschen7754 02:25, 28 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nice job creating List of airports in Kern County, California

edit

I wanted to give you some encouragement. You did a nice job of collecting the information and creating List of airports in Kern County, California. I did some edits which I hope also improved it. I'm a pilot from San Jose who has used some of those airports. I created the Mountain Valley Airport article. (The glider in the photo is the one I flew on my first glider solo, the day after I took that picture.) I also contributed photos to the Mojave Air and Space Port article including the aerial view in the infobox. Anyway, keep up the contributions and your enthusiasm for aviation. Hi. When you recently edited Bakersfield, California, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 2010 census (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). ArbCom 2018 election voter message

edit

Hello, Skyman9999. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
