I keep forgeting little things that you keep adding for me. I appriciate it--Jimktrains 13:23, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
I found you make my photo and recent changes on the Do you know... section of train portal, but the description is something misleading. Since the railway has three parts, the initial railway from Lanzhou to Urumqi, and two extended lines called north Xinjiang railway and south Xinjiang railway, which connect Urumqi and Alataw Pass (from where connect former Soviet's railway), and Kashgar. The initial Lanzhou to Urumqi part is about 1900 kilometers completed in 1962, and Urumqi to Alataw Pass part is 476 kilometers completed later, these are what you said the "2360 kilometer long railway", but there is still a south Xinjiang part from Urumqi to Kashgar, it is 1000+ kilometers. standard gauge
how did you mean your comment about "standard gauge"? you don't want to declare the archaic imperial measurement system as a standard now, aren't you? --ThurnerRupert 21:01, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
how's your info on historical railways? :-) Tomertalk 02:12, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Trains Portal DYK template
I am sorry if I have uset you in any way by nominating your template for deletion but it was important to get a discussion going on whether templates containing meta-data should remain in main space. It appears, although few people have commented, that for now they are more useful than harmful.
As a side note I want to commend you on the great job you are doing with the Trains Portal and for that I wish to honor you with a barnstar.

Nice work, I have been assembling data on this also but have had almost no time to devote to WP lately. I made a few minor tweaks and added some links, and moved the article to GA status. I may have a photo or two to add at some point if I can remember where I stored the files!--Lordkinbote 06:22, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
