I noted that you cited Seán Ó Faoláin. While many of his books are short stories, he did write some well-regarded non-fiction books on the Irish. Your addition seems well supported by Ó Faoláin. - Well one was mentioned in the material you removed, his book The Irish: A Character Study. 1949.
