Female genital mutilation in the UK
editI'm going to create this article. Thanks for suggesting it. Maranjosie (talk) 16:27, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Maranjosie, thanks for doing that! It looks good. If you would like to submit it for a "Did you know" slot on the front page, remember to do it within five days of article creation. The rules are at Wikipedia:Did you know#DYK rules and nomination instructions are at Template talk:Did you know#To nominate an article. SlimVirgin (talk) 17:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Is close paraphrasing acceptable?
editI know we disagree on this issue, but I also know you are interested in it:

editHi SV, I just wanted to swing by and leave a note to thank you for your comments at the PR. They've been really helpful. I'm hoping to finish up the PR this weekend and then on to FAC. Victoria (tk) 23:46, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Victoria, you're very welcome. It was actually a pleasure, because it's so nicely written. I'll look out for it at FAC. SlimVirgin (talk) 23:33, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Marshalsea
editI've noticed, Slim, that you seem to edit Marshalsea a lot. What is your interest in debtors prison? Or is it the fact that it was used for crimes at sea? Do you work in a legal field, where people are imprisoned without due process and without the presumption of innocence? Do you see a linkage between terrorism financing laws, and of unresolvable imprisonments, such as that done to Little Dorritt's father, at Marshalsea (in re: Dickens). What is your fascination with injustice? Is it that you wish to study it to prevent it, or is your aspiration that it's operationalization should be enshrined in law, and implemented as standard operating bureaucratic procedure?
Just wondering
Facsinating poodles (talk) 11:31, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
- More to the point: Do you think that people should be put in prison without trial , because of the arbitrary whim of a bureaucrat? Discuss. Facsinating poodles (talk) 11:36, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your recent edits clarifying close paraphrasing vis-à-vis plagiarism. I think the policy is now much clearer and accurate. Rationalobserver (talk) 17:07, 9 October 2014 (UTC) |

Please do not assume ownership of articles as you did at Talk:Female_genital_mutilation#Prevalence_stats_way_off. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Regarding this and this: What part of "will move to article talk page and reply there" do you not understand? I did exactly that. Reply there. {{U|Elvey}} (t•c) 21:35, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
I wrote and still seek a reply to this:
You keep editing but haven't replied. Can you see (in chart at right) that Most FGM in Eritrea IS indeed conducted on infants? Please reply on the talk page.--{{U|Elvey}} (t•c) 02:24, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

Active peer reviewers
editI really need some more active peer reviewers since I'm not going to be able to do it myself soon. Would you be willing to join up as an active peer reviewer on either Wikipedia:WikiProject Feminism/Peer review, Wikipedia:WikiProject Women's History/Peer review, or Wikipedia:WikiProject Gender Studies/Peer review? Please let me know. Thank you. Maranjosie (talk) 15:55, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Maranjosie, I'm busy at the moment with an article I'm working on, but I should be able to take a look in a couple of weeks' time. Thanks for organizing this. SlimVirgin (talk) 16:05, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
