September 2015

edit

  Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Draft:Simu Liu. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. -- Sam Sailor Talk! 09:52, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

New Updates

edit

I am Simu's publicity representative, not Simu himself. He has built an extremely notable career for himself in Canadian TV and stage, as evidenced by the multiple sources I have given. His name appears in multiple existing Wikipedia pages and thus I feel that he is more than deserving of a page for himself.

COI - Autobiography?

edit

  Hello, Sliu253. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, its competitors, or projects and products you or they are involved with;
  • instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you.

In addition - There are particular rules about autobiographies. Given your user name, this may be your case. See Wikipedia:Autobiography. LaMona (talk) 17:14, 22 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello - we work on the publicity for the Canadian television show Blood and Water. We don't work directly with the actors of the show, but given Simu's role in the series (he is one of the leads) whose name appears in the wikipedia page for the show as well as numerous times in different articles (see Make it Pop!, another Canadian television series), he very clearly satisfies Wikipedia's notability guidelines. All information in the article is verifiable by third-party sources, of which there are many including from many top-tier Canadian news organizations. There is no opinion present in the article or anything that would suggest a clear bias. Please reconsider your position. Thank you.

Sliu253 (talk) 08:35, 25 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you "work on the publicity..." then this is paid editing or another kind of conflict of interest. You MUST declare your conflict of interest, especially if it is paid editing. I'll give this a few more days, then I'll have to add this to the COI/paid editing task force list. LaMona (talk) 23:23, 15 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Tina Jung

edit

Hello, Sliu253,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Tina Jung should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tina Jung .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

  Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Simu Liu. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Thedarkknightli (talk) 03:40, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
