- Boleyn, why did you remove a link to Loran's diagram from the disambiguation? It is described in the article on Lichtenstein's painting. And your choosing Lichtenstein's painting overCezanne's is wrong: I believe the latter is more important, and the only reason there is an article on the former is that it is bizarre. Wikisaurus (talk) 07:58, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Wikisaurus. I deleted one entry as it had no incoming links to its red link, so did not meet MOS:DABRL or MOS:DABMENTION. If there's a good blue link to add where it is mentioned, that's great. I didn't choose one over the other, I formatted the page epr MOS:DABPRIMARY, where the article at the primary page is written at the top. If you think there needs to be a change of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC (and they often could do with a change) you may want to request it at WP:RM. Thanks for your reply, Boleyn (talk) 12:35, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I found the list you created because it is linked to Elena Cornaro Piscopia. I believe that the Italians listed received laurea degrees, which were the only degree issued by Italian universities until the 20th century. Do you think it would make sense to list the Italians separately and add an explanation of what a laurea was?TSventon (talk) 16:48, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi! TSventon, you mean that laurea was like doctorate, but now it is equivalent to magistrate? Yes, please add it to the article, but I do not think we should separate them: firstly, as far as I know, there was nothing like Bologna Process in Middle Ages, so the correspondence between degrees in any two countries was rather informal; secondly, in English-language sources they are called Doctor of Philosophy/Medicine/Laws, not laureas. Maybe a solution is to add a column with a native name of degree? Wikisaurus (talk) 18:05, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I need to do more research but my current understanding is that before the 20th century laurea was the only degree awarded by Italian universities so it is best translated as degree. Since the introduction of higher degrees in the 20th century a laurea is equivalent to a bachelor's degree. I will focus on adding to the Cornaro article to start with as the first female doctorate claim has been added and removed a couple of times.TSventon (talk) 15:19, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I would like to move the article to List of women who obtained doctoral degrees before 1800. The article refers to "women who obtained doctoral degrees before 1800" and similar articles do not have a comma.TSventon (talk) 11:37, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, of course, I've moved it. Wikisaurus (talk) 11:42, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I am curious about women Doctors of Divinity. Were there any before 1800? If not, why exclude them?TSventon (talk) 09:20, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Penshootoutbox2
editIf you want to delete a template, please take it to templates for discussion, not articles for deletion. That said, this does seem to meet a speedy deletion criterion instead, so I've gone for that. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 07:29, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry, I forgot that there is a special page for templates. Thank you. Wikisaurus (talk) 07:31, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi
editWell, I did not edit on ruwiki, but I saw a lot of things out there, including contributors being blocked and how, certain arbitration cases, certain pages that are political, and what they say, etc. BTW, the political bias is everywhere, even here. Consider this. You do have page ru:Путлер on ruwiki. Not here. You are doing nice work on ruwiki. Good luck! My very best wishes (talk) 22:10, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
Attribution
editHi, Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedis. When translating from a foreign language Wikipedia, such as Jean Stoetzel and Jean-Philippe-René de La Bléterie, you need to add attribution in the edit summary as well as the translated page template on the talk page. (See WP:HOWTRANS for more details). Regards --John B123 (talk) 14:02, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hi! Ok, thanks for notice. Wikisaurus (talk) 15:04, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
April 2020
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Hôtel de Guénégaud a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 15:01, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Dl2000:, hi! It looks like an error: I separated article into two, replacing it with disambig, not copy-pasted instead of moving. Wikisaurus (talk) 15:03, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
- Understood - your disambiguation was justified, and I have flagged Hôtel de Guénégaud (rue des Archives) to fix up the history. Hopefully that can be sorted out; it's easy to overlook page history issues sometimes. Generally, a good approach in such cases is to first move the article (e.g. Hôtel de Guénégaud --> Hôtel de Guénégaud (rue des Archives)) and the article history also moves. Then you can go back to the Hôtel de Guénégaud redirect and edit that to set up the disambiguation page. Hope this helps explain things. All the best... Dl2000 (talk) 15:13, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Your dummy edits to many, many redirect pages
editCould you please explain why you are performing dummy edits on so many redirect pages? You don't give meaningful edit summaries. – Tea2min (talk) 15:25, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Tea2min: hi! I break redirects to connect them to Wikidata items, because if a redirect is not broken, then when you connect it to a Wikidata item it will, well, redirect to its target article. This redirects are useful, because they allow users from other language versions to find the place in enwiki where this subject is explained even if there is no separate article. You can see some details in d:Wikidata:Requests for comment/Allow the creation of links to redirects in Wikidata. Wikisaurus (talk) 15:29, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
- I see, thanks. – Tea2min (talk) 15:56, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
- I was puzzled by this too. I think it would be good if your edit summaries explained this. Paul August ☎ 12:52, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- I agree. Please supply an informative edit summary for every edit. If I hadn't known you were a regular editor, I would have tagged you for edit test/vandalism.—Anita5192 (talk) 17:25, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- I write now "Wikidata", is it better? I could, of course, write something like "breaking redirect to connect it to Wikidata, otherwise it redirects to the target page", but it is too long and would take too much time, unfortunately. Wikisaurus (talk) 10:28, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- "Wikidata" is an improvement, but it's rather cryptic. Your suggested longer comment is much clearer (and not too long), and you could copy and paste it to avoid having to keep retyping it. --Zundark (talk) 13:53, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Off-wiki evidence
editShould you ever uncover off-wiki evidence of misdoing by a user, DO NOT post it on Wikipedia. Instead, email it to WP:ARBCOM so it remains private. Otherwise, that constitutes WP:OUTING, which is a serious violation. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 18:42, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- @CaptainEek:, strange rules in enwiki, nothing like this in ruwiki, but ok. Anyway, why did you undone my request, but not blocked the user? Should arbcom spend their time checking obvoius spammer? Wikisaurus (talk) 18:45, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- Not seeing anything obvious. Feel free to refile the report if you wish, but without outing the individual. Incidentally people are allowed to have a job doing something, and then so something similar for fun in their spare time. Canterbury Tail talk 19:21, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
Russian fascism page
editHey, Wikisaurus. If you have some time, I would be glad if you contribute to this article more and to its talk page: Russian fascism (ideology) --IgorTurzh (talk) 19:07, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Wikisaurus I think the article needs to be improved by better structure as some uses wants either to delete or soft-delete via redirect. IgorTurzh (talk) 19:19, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @IgorTurzh, hi! I think there are three separate topics:
- Russian fascism of 1930s, when fascism was not yet such seen as something odious, which was like British fascism of the same time, see ru:Русский фашизм,
- Neo-Nazism of 21st century unrelated to Russian government and even partially suppressed by it in 2010s, see ru:Неонацизм в России,
- probably nameless modern ukrainophobic ideology of Russian government, officially promoted in articles like What Russia should do with Ukraine and resulted in atrocities like Bucha massacre.
- The article Russian fascism (ideology) told about 3, while the title corresponds to 1. I would rather avoid writing an article on 3 due to the probably lack of RS yet, and I suggest to you to explain it in Russia under Vladimir Putin#Ideology. Wikisaurus (talk) 19:35, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- thanks! I agree with you. IgorTurzh (talk) 19:44, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- @IgorTurzh, hi! I think there are three separate topics:

Hi, I see that you made the last edit to the ru article for the University of Cambridge. I updated the number of colleges and halls in the ru University of Oxford article and provided a reference on 17 January 2023, but my edit has still not been patrolled. Please could you help? There are 21 unpatrolled changes since September 2022 but I believe the other changes just change the format or have been reversed. TSventon (talk) 17:42, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, @TSventon! I marked you edits as patrolled. Wikisaurus (talk) 18:12, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
Buka Suka Dimka
editHaven't been active on Wiki for some months so I just noticed you changed the redirect from Bukar Suwar Dimka back to the wrongly spelled Buka Suka Dimka which has now taken on a life of its own. I want to correct this error without engaging in an edit war. What's your recommendation for making things right? Do I just correct all instances of 'Buka' to 'Bukar' and 'Suka' to 'Suwar'? What happens to the article title itself? Kunkuru (talk)
- Dear @Kunkuru: I reverted your edit because it was breaking the edit history, not because some title is more correct. See WP:MV: "Do not move or rename a page by cutting and pasting its content, because doing so fragments the edit history. Instead, please follow the instructions given below". Now I opened a request to move the article on Talk:Buka Suka Dimka#Requested move 9 December 2023, please comment there. Wikisaurus (talk) 17:58, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
