Re : I am fairly new here.

edit

Of course you can. Just click here and start writing your own userpage away! :) You'll always be a trusted editor as long as you contribute positively;, there is no probation or trial period for new editors. Alternately, you may be referring to the role of a sysop, in which you shouldn't worry too much for now since you're starting out. (if you are interested though, perhap 6 months of active contribution and participation is recommended). I hope you will enjoy your stay here! - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 16:28, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sarah Vaughan...

edit

As a jazz vocal fan like myself, you have much to contribute to this sadly neglected area, but you should have been more careful with your Sarah Vaughan edit! try writing album articles perhaps, and incorporating them into the text, etc, etc. :) Gareth E Kegg 13:22, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Elektra image

edit

Hi,

I noticed a bot deleted the Elektra Assassin image you apparently uploaded. If you'd care to upload it again, please do so, and this time choose the "Comic Book Cover" license from the pop-down menu. Also specify the source (e.g. "I scanned it myself" or "it's from this URL"). It would qualify as a fair use and won't be deleted if you do those two things. The article could use the illustration.

Thanks! Tempshill 18:51, 30 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hemp mergers

edit

Regarding your desired to merge the articles Hemp and Cannabis, a discussion has taken place here: Talk:Cannabis#Proposed_merger and the consensus is that they are better seperated for the reasons outlined there.

I am going to remove the tage from the Hemp article in response to this consensus. HighInBC 13:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Coltrane's Transition

edit

I've answered your question, I hope satisfactorily, on the Coltrane talk page. Sorry about the delay. - Maggie --70.48.205.77 17:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:ElektraAssassin01.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:ElektraAssassin01.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Duke Ellington and the Duke of Wellington

edit

I was reading the Duke Ellington page and noticed the trivia piece you added about him sharing a birthday with the 1st Duke of Wellington is not accurate (Duke Ellington is April 29th and Arthur Wellesley was May 1st). I've deleted it temporarily, but here's the original in case you want to update it (it definitely is odd that the birthdays are so close):

"Duke shares the same birthday as the Duke of Wellington."

Cheers

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Example.ElektraAssassin01.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Example.ElektraAssassin01.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:00, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
