WP:AIV can be very helpful! if you report a user there, they may be banned or warned more strictly. Be sure to read the guidelines to confirm the user meets the requirements. if you need any help in this, let me know! MatthewYeager04:01, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I attempted that feat with the same result. I was permitted to use a semi-automatic process in which I would have to approve every post, and it would also have to meet certain restriction. such as ensuring the user has contributed to wikipedia and is not vandalism account, make sure they have made their own userpage or talkuserpage, just general things like that. I also had to rename that account, so it would not sound like a "bot" was doing it and have it be more personal. Now, sometimes I welcome users, but in general its a very very very very very tedious process for even semi-assisted :( let me know if you have questions. I wouldn't suggest bringing up "welcoming bot" as those are bad words here, unless you think of some awesome new approach to doing it ? Personally i think if wikipedia just made everyones talk page to start out with like "welcome to wiki here are some places you can go to get help and learn how to edit" it would greatly improve retaining users to edit more. oh and dont worry about RfA, everything went well. Withdrawn pretty much due to edit count :'( i thought my answers to the questions and knowledge of Wikipedia were fitting to be an administrator, but nothing a few more months of editing cant fix : ) MatthewYeager12:51, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

I added the country name because for a moment at first reading I couldn't work out which country was being specified. I've removed it from the infobox but I think it might be of help when a new reader turns up to have the 'Indian' in front of the first mention of DRDO. Sound a fair compromise? Hi Roger,
Thanks a ton for all the help on the MILHIST assessment. I finished up one list of assessments. There is a small problem.. there are about 10 pages which I'm unable to decide whether they make the cut wrt MILHIST. I've put the list below and the reasons I couldn't decide on them. Tell me what you think of them, and I'll do accordingly. Thanks a ton
Azimullahtalk - Do we include all Gitmo detainees or would they be better served under Wikiproject:Terrorism?
MH (US=yes)
William H. Danatalk - Test pilot, served in USAF, but most work he has done is with NASA's experimental aircraft, rather than military testing. However, Richard F. Gordon, Jr. is under MILHIST.
Not MH
Comfort items - Again, I dont know if this should be in MILHIST.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:FIDSNS Screenshot 2 Nov 2007.PNG
Latest comment: 17 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Thanks for uploading Image:FIDSNS Screenshot 2 Nov 2007.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:FIDSNS Screenshot 2 Nov 2007.PNG)
Latest comment: 16 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Thanks for uploading Image:FIDSNS Screenshot 2 Nov 2007.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot22:06, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for all your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.
Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.
Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be good to have your feedback/comments on the drive at the
Tag & Assess workshop
Just a minor formatting tip: If you put <br /> between paragraphs, the original bullet indenting will be preserved to improve readability of the discussion. Like in this example. User:Dorftrottel 04:54, January 18, 2008

Sniperz11: Thank you for offering to place my picture on Kaykaus I. As luck would have it, my friend Kafka Liz has been learning about images today and has promised to teach me. I'm going to get over my fear of the more technical side of Wikipedia and, with her help, learn to do it myself. Thank you for the offer. Regards, Aramgar (talk) 18:59, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

didn't understand why are you are worried about MRCA article. its well written and all we need is more references & sources. if we provide source for every statements, may be article get into FA Class. won't that be gr8. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajay ijn (talk • contribs) 14:28, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Regarding CFEES
Latest comment: 16 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Hi there. I added India after the name of CFEES becuase when I was reading the article I really wonder for a while in which country it was based. I only found it after reading the name of an Indian city later on the text. I think it will help many readers who have not heard of the CFEES before. Cheers Grein (talk) 22:45, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Re: MILHIST Taskforce Suggestions
Latest comment: 16 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Briefly:
Renaming and/or majorly rescoping task forces is a logistical nightmare; I think that it would be much easier to create separate task forces if the demand ever arises.
I see "Battles" as too broad to be effective. Battles are pervasive throughout the project, and there's no real discussion that would be applicable across all battle articles but not relevant to the project as a whole.
Task force scopes are meant to be fluid and slightly vague, to avoid the need to create many tiny task forces to cover semantic gaps. If there are major points of confusion, we can address them, but trying to over-formalize everything would be a mistake, in my opinion.
It's an idea that's been bounced around before, but the fate of the extant (but inactive) Cold War project would probably need to be resolved before we could act on it.
That's something we're considering. It'll probably depend on the article counts we come up with as we're preparing the next drive.

Prasad, what would be the use of writing missile tests in so many sections. Isn't describing in one section enough?. Thats why i removed info from intro section. Moreover tests will happen quite regularly in future. Shouldn't Intro Section become very small providing only breif information about the whole program. I think we should even removing the 80km & 30km fact and just keep it has exo & endo Atmospheric interception in the Intro Section. Later in PAD & AAD we can desribe them more in detail. writing everything in intro section, whats the need of other sections. And also you have written a lot about kargil, we got to provide some source to show there is connection between kargil & BMD Program. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajay ijn (talk • contribs) 06:40, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
thanks for the effort in improving ASP page..
Latest comment: 16 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
hi sniperz11,
Thanks for your time in Improving and Wikifing the AIRBORNE SURVEILLANCE PLATFORM article,
It would perhaps require someone of your veterancy to cleanup all the mess I've put up there :-)
Note: I'm very new to editing articles in the wikipedia, so kindly be kind with your reply :)
I have some questions for you,
I actually have a lot more references than I've put up in the ASP page.
I have references from my Jane's Airforces Weekly Subscription, but the point is if i post that url, the user will be directed to the subscribe/login page, is it legal to use the materials from that to write the article(presently you will see, the introductions are mostly a Straight fwd ctrlC ctrlV from FAS/Globalsecurity.
though I may be new here, I see that the Indian Airforce page(I see , in which you're a regular contributer) is more geared to the details and descriptions of Aircrafts, while the missile inventory and regiments/squadrons are completely underplayed. It would be nice , if we could add those details too..

Thanks for the welcome,
(I've addressed the reply in conjunction with your msg.)
And your kind words...
I'll check the url and add them and other information as well(as of now i've made some small edits in your corrections like "WAS" to "is" and such, feel free to pass it thru the gauntlet)
I'll try to dig up some info on the missile squadrons and other equipments as well, especially the Navigation/IFF and the like , i might find easy..(will keep you posted on it)
Never bad to hear a good word
possibly, the avenues of information dissemination is known by me, but i'm in no way offended by your mentioning/reminding it.
Will do (I'm a member of wikiprojecttIndia)
As of now, my fav passtime is adding links to ASP :-? (LOL)
hanks for the suggestions and contributions.
Of course, i've been doing some anonymous edits esp. in the sensitive pages of 1971 war and some other pages where there seems to be more bragging and name calling in the talk-pages than a genuine information interchange, but I'm getting used to reversals (partly coz' of anonymous edits, but then when my edits were of neutral narration and references, they stayed(atleast parts of it)). So technically I got tired of anonymous edits and wanted to do them Officially, so many rules to follow i suppose..!!

I see from my watchlist that you made an edit to the Corwin Amendment article, but I can't tell what you changed? What's the difference between the article before your edit and afterwards? Just curious. --SMP0328. (talk) 00:15, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
