Thurston Island
editI have seen other people like me which are called micronationalist do the exact same thing I did and it was not deleted so why was mine? And please put it back and if it needs to be twicked a little that's fine but I really need that up there. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.
- I added a subject heading to your message to make it easier to find on my page. The reason I removed your information I was not able to find any sources online that verified that what you were stating was true, and if true, that it was notable. If a reliable third-party source like a major newspaper, magazine, book, &c., had reported on your micronation's claims on Thurston Island, that would be a stronger case for keeping it as a part of an article. On the other hand, a source like [starkingdomsk.weebly.com the one you linked to] is not a reliable source, because anyone could have created it -- someone reading the article about Thurston Island has no way to be sure that the information is reliable and important (notable) enough to be mentioned. As a rule, micronations tend not to be notable enough to be included, because anyone can form one, and they aren't frequently covered in reliable sources. Does this make more sense? --some jerk on the Internet (talk) 00:06, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Yes it does make since but why do other micro nations do the same thing I'm doing and there pages don't get messed with?
- Can you link to some of the micronations that you're seeing included (to create a wikilink, put its title between two sets of brackets, so Aerican Empire--> Aerican Empire)? It may be the case that the others you're seeing really don't belong on Wikipedia either, for the same reasons of notability that I talked about above. Really, each one should be evaluated on its own merits -- there's a general principle that just because another article about something similar is on Wikipedia doesn't automatically justify inclusion. As far as why other micronations' articles "don't get messed with," I can only really comment for myself; what I do mainly is watch recent changes to Wikipedia as a whole, and address issues as I see them. Other editors do different functions and make different decisions. I hope that makes things a little more clear -- if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask!
- One more little thing: when you add a comment or message on my talk page or anyone else's, could you please add your signature to it by typing 4 tildes (~) at the end? Thanks. --some jerk on the Internet (talk) 13:22, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon
editHi! We are working with staff at Hampshire College to organize a Wikipedia edit-a-thon there for the Wikipedia:Meetup/ArtandFeminism 2015 events taking place March 7th and 8th. Would you be interested in being a local Wikipedia contact and perhaps also facilitating a training at their event? If no, do you know of any Wikipedians in the Amherst area that might be interested in helping out? Cheers! OR drohowa (talk) 19:00, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for July 18
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Is It ... Man or Astroman?, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
