Hey there, Somebody9973! I'm glad you decided to register a new account here on Wikipedia. Some Quick Tips Don't be afraid to make mistakes - Be Bold! That's how things get done, and there is always someone around to help you out if you need it. Remember to sign your posts on talk pages, like this one. Normal distribution

Apparently in this edit you failed to realize that the e that should be there was already there, since exp(x) means e^x, so it's correct either way. But your next edit, which you called a "simplification", was horribly wrong. You changed this:

${\frac {1}{\sigma }}\varphi \left({\frac {x-\mu }{\sigma }}\right)$

to this:

${\frac {\varphi (x-\mu )}{\sigma ^{2}}}$
