Hi. I see you've been adding messages to talk pages for articles and files nominated for deletion. It's not necessary to add this to the talk page as a prominent notice is already available on the main article page. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 13:18, 9 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

AfD Comments

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you enjoy your editing experience here. As a new editor you should become familiar with Wikipedia policies--especially those regarding notability, verifiability, and reliable sources. The necessary links are contained in the message posted by Whpq. If you're going to comment at deletion discussions please be sure to check the notability guidelines for that field--many areas (e.g., authors, actors, athletes, etc.) have additional guidelines beyond the general ones given at WP:GNG. I mention this because your comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daniel Weichel shows you were unaware of this. That's not a problem, every editor makes mistakes and if that's the worst thing you do at WP you'll be an outstanding editor. WP has a lot of policies (although the ones I mentioned earlier are the key ones) and it takes time to get to know them. I've been editing on WP for a few years and still consider myself a beginner. Again, happy editing and feel free to ask questions of more experienced editors! Papaursa (talk) 17:13, 4 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

2013 Birthday Honours

Thankyou for you contributions but may I suggest making bulk additions (more than one name at a time) to the list because it causes edit conflicts. Regards Nford24 (Want to have a chat?) 09:44, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Good idea. There must be a simple way to copy and paste the whole lot in, from one of the several webpages with it on. As long as links to current pages are not lost. Do you know how to do it?Sophiahounslow (talk) 09:48, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

That's simple to do but each addition needs to be checked and linked to a Page Eg; Rowan Atkinson CBE for such and such. Nford24 (Want to have a chat?) 09:50, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bolokada Conde, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Santa Cruz (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Barry Quirk

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Barry Quirk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. --GouramiWatcher (?) 16:23, 10 March 2014 (UTC) Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
